3DMark Fire Strike and Unigine Heaven

I consider these tests to be somewhat of a "best case" for all the cards in our comparison.  We aren't using our frame capture system, we aren't measuring frame latency, nothing like that; I think this should give you an idea of graphics performance if each vendor had the best result for each game.

First, the new ASUS GTX 960 Strix produces a score of 7766 in 3DMark Fire Strike, a jump of 22% over the aging GTX 760. That score though falls right between the scores of the Radeon R9 285 and the R9 280. On the Extreme test runs the results are the same – a 24% advantage for the GTX 960 over the GTX 760 and a split with the R9 280/285.

In a test that used to be dominated by NVIDIA, the GTX 960 actually falls behind both the Radeon R9 280 and R9 285 in both 1920×1080 Normal testing and 2560×1440 Extreme testing! That said, the difference is only 4.7% at the Extreme setting.
