Wearable tech shown at this year's CES by Intel included the Intel MICA and Basis PEAK wearables, but a blog post from ARM is reporting that a pair of these devices are powered by an ARM SoC.

ARM has posted pictures of teardowns from different wearable products, highlighting their presence in these new devices. The pictures we have taken from ARM's blog post show that it is not Intel at the heart of the two particular models we have listed below.
First is the Basis PEAK, and it actually makes a lot of sense that this product would have an ARM SoC considering Intel's aquisition of Basis occurred late in 2014, likely after the development of the PEAK had been completed.

Of course it is likely that Intel has plans to integrate their own mobile chips into future versions of wearable products like the PEAK.
Of some interest however is the SoC within their own MICA luxury wearable.

For now, ARM is the industry standard for mobile devices and they are quick to point this out in their their blog post, writing "it’s important to remember that only ARM and its partners can meet the diversity requirements and fuel innovation in this space". Intel seems to be playing the "partner" role for now, though not exclusively as the company's mobile technology is powering the newest ASUS ZenFone, for instance.

What do you mean by “diversity requirements”?, and do not forget about MIPS, Imagination Technologies has 64 Bit MIPS ISA based cores with SMT options. And that Rockchip, is fabricated by TSMC on their 28nm node. This is more Intel being an Apple(before its custom ARM SKUs) like OEM contractor, and sourcing these parts and integrating some of Intel’s/other IP.
There will be much competition between ARM and MIPS, going forward for the so called IOT market. Intel should be getting a top tier architecture license from ARM holdings and making some custom ARMv8 ISA based microarchitecture of its own, AMD is working on K12, while Nvidia has Denver(on a holding pattern for now, but still there), Apple is not standing still either. MIPS based products can not be discounted, especially now that Imagination Technologies(IT) will be further integrating its PowerVR graphics with MIPS, and IT is a founding member of the HSA foundation, so expect HSA compliant products coming form them. The jury is still out on just what the third party licensed Power8 RISC designs will do for the market, server SKUs at first, but do not rule the Power8 core IP out for other PC/Laptop, and maybe even tablets, products, RISC designs are very scalable across a wider range of products/markets than CISC designs.

As far as this tech goes, without built in sim support I don’t care.
I don’t want a traditional smart phone anymore. I want a phone watch. I hate having my phone interrupt my daily life. I just want it there, but out of the way.. Not have to pull it out of the pocket, stair at it like a goon. Just want to glance at my wrist, see if I care and move on. I’d love to have a phone watch, and a full windows tablet that can handle pc games / music production for my backpack really. We’re very close to that.. A 120 dollar full windows tablet from last year can play a good 50 or so of my 200+ steam titles.. And with intels new stuff from CES… Gettttting waaaarmer. (But cooler..)
