I guess we should be happy that all these flagships are not $1000.00. $999 (imagine Josh saying it in his inimitable way) is so much more affordable, as I am sure you will agree Jeremy. We better go to the bank and arrange a loan now while it is still below $1000. I can’t imagine how much faster my system would be with this memory. Not much I would guess. Don’t get me wrong. I love high end tech; I just wish it was not priced out of my reach, as more and more of it seems to be these days.

Heatspreaders yes just eye candy but if there is some sort of active cooling including a fan on memory it can certainly help with stability.

not 100% eye candy, memory does get hot, not like a cpu but it does get hot, and propper heat dispensation helps with stability, THAT SAID the masive finns and composite mettals and colors and stuff IS all overkill un-nessasary eye-candy. (cool lookin tho)
HOWEVER at 3400Mhz I wonder…… It’d be cool to rip off the heat-sync of one and run a side by side heat comparison, maybe it does need SOME of that fancy cooling.

AND ALSO memory heat increased DRAMATICALY when you OC it, like drasticaly, tiny boost in performance masive boost in heat. I dont understand why people OC ram, but they do and they need all the cooling they can get.
STILL you are mostly corect, mostly just bling. That said in this rig I’m on I have some of the prettiest shiny blue massive fins on my ram, it just looks awesome, like 4 rows of perfect warriors, ready to go to war. 10 years ago I would NEVER spend one extra penny on ascetics for my pc, NOT ONE PENNY, but times change, we grow. *

I would have to do alot more researching on my part but I do agree with user: Collie, it would be nice to see a side-by-side comparison chart with and without the heat spreaders. 🙂 (at various Voltages and Frequencies, of course 😉 ].
