Results: Unigine Heaven 4.0
This particular benchmark nicely shows the performance hit that we would expect to see with varied levels of tessellation enabled. I tested with it disabled, moderate, normal, and extreme. We should get a good feeling about how these cards handle tessellation under various levels. Resolution was set at 1920×1200, no AA, 16X AF, and High quality settings.
We can see that the R9 285 does have quite a bit more chops when it comes to tessellation performance. While it can’t match the R9 280X under the different modes, we see that the 285 loses far less performance when going to higher tessellation factors. It runs all over the competing GTX 760.

Comparable performance got GTX 960 (hardware hevc 8 + 10 bit decode, fan won’t spin for most of time due to low heat output)
