Kingston has announced a new high-speed USB flash drive with the new Type-C connector, and the dual-interface drive also works with standard USB Type-A devices.
The microDuo 3C offers read speeds up to 100MB/s and 15MB/s writes for the 32GB and 64GB models, with write speeds of 10MB/s on the 16GB version.
Specifications from Kingston:
Pricing was not revealed, but the drive will ship later this month so we will find out soon.

I’m finding these numbers to
I’m finding these numbers to be a little lackluster considering the CrystalMark results I got from my new 64GB Kingston Data Traveler.
This USB 3.0 drive hit 108MB/s sequential read and 52MB/s sequential write. See the full results here: http://theblindgeek.net/benchmark-kingston-datatraveler-usb-3-0-64gb-flashdrive/.
Is it just me, or is anyone else expecting a little more out of a “next-gen” drive?
Hah love your site’s tagline!
Hah love your site’s tagline! Also stumbed across your link to NVDA which sounds really useful (JAWS and ZoomText are so damn expensive!),ill pass that link on to my vision itinerant friend to see if it can help her students get a screen reader on all their PCs.
edit: wait this drive is rated at 100 MB/s read but only 10 MB/s write or 15 on the higher capacity models? O.o
•Speed: USB 3.13(???) most
•Speed: USB 3.13(???) most thumb drives will never even saturate a USB 2.0 (60 MB per sec.) connection, and this one barely needs USB 3.0(for reads only). The only real advantage is the USB Type-C connection ability, to go along with the type-A.
10MB/S write, what is this
10MB/S write, what is this 2005?
