Microsoft pushed out the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10130 to Fast Ring users late last month, and now the company is releasing downloadable ISOs for the build. Microsoft is not yet ready to make this build available to Slow Ring users, but the company is making a special exception in releasing ISO files of the build (Microsoft usually only makes ISOs available after the build has been pushed to the Slow Ring). Specifically, the ISOs are being posted online in response to certain Fast Ring users getting a 0x80246017 error and not being able to upgrade using Windows Update.
Build 10130 will eventually come to the Slow Ring, but the company is still working on fixing several bugs including taskbar flyouts not working properly. For now we will have to wait.
However, if you are on the Fast Ring and are unable to use Windows Update, you can download the appropriate ISO for your language and system (32-bit or 64-bit), mount it, and apply the update by running the installer.
Download the Windows 10 Build 10130 ISO from the Windows Insider website.
I just got my Windows 10
I just got my Windows 10 Upgrade reservation offer. Corporations are offering Office 365 for $10/yr subscriptions. This is the most aggressive deployment plan by MS ever.
In certain instances, people have less far less choice and and input concerning these deployments.
Does anyone bother to discover the truth to one question: Why?
It is a conspiracy to give
It is a conspiracy to give you something for free! Call Mulder and Scully, because the truth is out there……..
Nothing is for free. MS is
Nothing is for free. MS is paying people to make this for a reason. Grow up- corporations aren’t there to give out freebies. There is an agenda behind this- money-making or not. I’m going to state it for you simply: It’s going out “for free” because they are after a market-share base they can sign up for subscriptions. MS is after steady streams of revenue.
A person can be an MS Snazi all they want. Let’s see how they sing when they wind up with a part-time job and realize that they are renting their software from MS.
the agenda is mass adoption,
the agenda is mass adoption, as fast as possible.
simple as that.
The agenda is to get the
The agenda is to get the cattle inside the gates, with lush fields of green grass! And then when that prime beef is inside, to allow the prime beef(consumers) to fatten up a bit, and after a good while to insidiously, and very slowly, so as to not be noticed, shut the gates and go full on subscription. Sure users will get the base OS, an OS devoid of any useful feature set, forcing users to obtain at cost($) sufficient “Universal” applications to provide the same functionality that was standard equipment with windows OSs in the past. M$ will then close the software ecosystem, and force the “Universal”/whatever application developers to give it 30% off of the top of all the new “Universal” applications/Apps! M$ is already converting its M$ branded productivity application software into a software as a service model.
What the consumer is getting here is a base OS that will over time be converted to an almost incomplete for every day use(devoid on necessary free functionality) base OS, and force the OS users to subscribe to get the necessary feature updates, and such. And though the users will always get the security updates, the other updates(features) and support for the OS, will cost and M$ will charge for this as just another service.
Steam OS, as well as Linux in the server room(The Internet runs on mostly Linux based servers) will cause the one time purchase OS, as a business model to go away, and the base OS Windows, Linux(been free), OSX(comes with the hardware), will be essentially free.
Welcome to the era of the OS as infrastructure, provided free of charge, but with a paid service model approach where the money will be made. The Apple style approach for M$, while for the independents, Valve’s Steam OS, and Linux/Free BSD/Etc. business model will allow for the Games/consumer market a choice of services without the extra added 30% off of the top of everyone’s action. There is more money in that 30% off of the top and other metrics gathering/BING using, and ad pushing for M$, as the one time pay/purchase OS business model for the OS becomes history.
Nice to see the fly out menu
Nice to see the fly out menu is working period, mine hasn’t been working properly for months.
Anyone one know if people
Anyone one know if people with 7-8 can download ISO of 10 when its released or have to upgrade over?
Well, the last thing I heard
Well, the last thing I heard was that users would need to do an in-place upgrade but once they had activated the key and locked it to that hardware, subsequent installs (on that same hardware) could be clean installs from an ISO. I'm not sure if that's still the case or will be when it launches next month though.
