The AMD Radeon R9 Fury X 4GB Review - Fiji Finally Tested - Graphics Cards 35

A good start for the Fury X here in Crysis 3 where it is able to match the performance of the GTX 980 Ti at our rather difficult image quality settings and at 2560×1440 resolution. And again, the Fury X is nearly a third faster than the R9 290X for less power. As far as frame variance goes, both the R9 290X and the Fury X saw a bit more of that than the other three cards in our testing, possibly indicative of the memory capacity differences.

Though the frame rates are really low, the GTX 980 Ti does find itself slower than the AMD Fury X again, this time by about 5%. And in this case, the frame time variance shows a much better picture on the Fury X than it does on the R9 290X.

AMD Radeon R9 Fury X 4GB, Average FPS Comparisons, Crysis 3
  GTX 980 Ti 6GB R9 290X 4GB R9 295X2 8GB
2560×1440 +2.5% +31% -39%
3840×2160 +5% +33% -35%

It took longer than I had hoped, but AMD's new Fiji GPU does get its first victory over the GTX 980 Ti in our performance testing at the hands of Crysis 3.
