This is another newish benchmark for the latest video card reviews from the lab. Thief comes in both Direct3D and Mantle flavors, but I just used D3D for this particular test. I tested against the built-in benchmark, and settings were placed at Very High with the resolutions set at 1920×1200 and 2560×1600.
This is a title that leans heavily AMD’s way, since not only did they help with rendering code, but also implemented TrueAudio. I kept TrueAudio disabled of course, since most of the other cards do not support it. When things go to 1600P then the NVIDIA cards are much closer to the R9 290X. Again note how close together the Zotac and MSI cards are, yet again.
I noticed the cooling fins
I noticed the cooling fins are vertical on the Zotac unit, is it blowing half of the heat directly onto the motherboard? Or is that not really an issue?
I wouldn’t say it was an
I wouldn't say it was an issue at all. In fact, the extra downforce might in fact help overall cooling on the motherboard.
