With the option of a 4K display and some serious specs the G752VY covers the bases for a desktop-replacement gaming powerhouse, topping the list of new laptops.
Sitting below the G752VY is the G752VT (yes this is a different laptop, though you could easily mistake the “T” for the other model name’s “Y”), and this 17.3” laptop differs in GPU selection with the GTX 970M and is only offered with a FHD 1920×1080 IPS display. Rounding out the lineup is the G752VL which has the GeForce GTX 965M GPU, and is otherwise virtually identical.
These new gaming laptops will be available in Q4, and pricing starts at $1499.
Superb! Nice ASUS! :))

nice laptop, but is the 980m
nice laptop, but is the 980m really up for the task of trying to run a 4k display? I mean, even a regular 980 struggles with it.
the thing I’m more interested in is the ThunderBolt 3 tech. Is itknown if this is just going to be on the highest end model or on all the mentioned models? Also, will this be the Type-c connector? Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it announced recently about the external graphics boxes that could be connected via Thunderbolt 3 type-c connector? If this is true about these laptops, then this feature is suddenly even more compelling.
If I’m not wrong you can get
If I’m not wrong you can get 2 980m’s. It said 4gb of gddr5 as well as 8 gb. This could mean the possibility of 2 980’s
Then that makes sense, I
Then that makes sense, I didn’t read that far into the specs. But if the type c connector for Thunderbolt 3 is true, then mobile gpu is a moot point anyway once external gpu boxes hit mainstream
All thunderbolt 3 will be a
All thunderbolt 3 will be a USB Type-c. In the past all of their models had Thunderbolt. I want to know if this will have crappy audio and USB 3 connectivity problems that my g751 has that Asus will not fix.
Looks like we will have to
Looks like we will have to wait and see about the USB 3.0 Left side ports. The G75, G750, and G751 all have that same issue. My G75 is ageing I’m hoping that USB will be sorted out as well as the 2nd hard drive bay being SATA 3 GB unlike your at SATA 2 3GB
The mobile graphics are going
The mobile graphics are going to have a hard time keeping up with 4k gaming, even if it is a 980. This would be a decent powerhouse at 1080p for new games, Especially if these are the desktop processors. (processor intensive games seem to be the norm lately).
G-sync is a nice feature, and if gaming at 4k will come in handy!
The 5400rpm 2tb harddrive option made me giggle like its 2008.
All in all, this will be a decent gaming laptop for the next year or so, and a great movie machine for the foreseeable future.
is it out yet?
