We already saw an announcement from ASUS (at IFA 2015) for their water-cooled Republic of Gamers GX700 gaming laptop, and now we have more details about this unique product, though some are still pending. The specifications (including the full version of the NVIDIA GTX 980) would make a great gaming desktop system, and that's kind of the idea as the performance increases substantially when the laptop is docked in its liquid-cooling base.
There are certainly questions about this concept that won't be answered until hardware in hand, but it's going to be interesting to see just how well a liquid cooling system will work in a dockable format like this.

Oh my gosh, this machine is
Oh my gosh, this machine is insane. ASUS appears to be going with a “money is no object” approach and just building the most ridiculous laptop ever. The only problem with that is, money is definitely an object, and if you try to mass produce something like this that might be an awful idea, because it’s definitely a small amount of people that both respect the insane hardware in this machine and have enough money to actually acquire it.
Yay, another device us
Yay, another device us working class peasants can’t afford!

I have to hand it to Asus as this is a work of art. That cooling solution is beautiful. This laptop is so over the top but I love the idea of pushing the limits of technology. As impractical as this is bravo for bringing something like this to market. It is def a niche market but I am sure they will sell a few of these.
