Four months after being pulled from sale due to performance woes, Batman: Arkham Knight is being re-released for PC (along with a new patch containing all of the fixes) on October 28.

From the official statement:
“At 10 am PDT, Oct. 28th, Batman: Arkham Knight will be re-released for the PC platform. At the same time we’ll also be releasing a patch that brings the PC version fully up-to-date with content that has been released for console (with the exception of console exclusives).
This means that next week, all PC players will have access to Photo Mode, Big Head Mode, Batman: Arkham Asylum Batman Skin, and character selection in combat AR challenges.”
After such a terrible introduction and long absence after its unprecedented removal from sale on Steam, is there any chance Warner Bros. will still attempt to charge full price for the re-released game? Such a move might be considered controversial, but we will have to wait and see as pricing was not announced.
If there’s a decent discount,
If there’s a decent discount, maybe $30 after waiting this long for it to be “fixed” and re-released I’d consider picking it up.
Just wait until next steam
Just wait until next steam summer sale.
Or just get on cdkey
Or just get on cdkey
So this is gonna be a little
So this is gonna be a little rantish but meh… who cares. Oh, and this isnt directed towards anyone in particular. Especially the author. I know u just posed a question…here is my 2 cents.
If you did not a) purchase or b) put any money towards this game previously. It is absolutely absurd for you to feel like you are entitled to ANY form of recompense WHATSOEVER. In believing so, you are merely publicly broadcasting said deluded sense of entitlement. Not to mention your naivete and ignorance.
Like this company OWES us a batman game… laugh out loud.
Come back down to earth. Its nice down here, n we could use your help 🙂 GET A JOB AND GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
How many new games have been
How many new games have been pulled from sale on Steam due to massive performance problems? Only one. Besides, this isn't a new game anymore. Titles are often $10 to $20 less in the months following launch.
Far from entitlement (as there is no actually reason anyone needs this, or any, game), offering the newly patched, re-release of Arkham Knight for a lower price on PC is just a good business decision.
As the PC version of the game is currently selling for $24 on Amazon brand new, it would be very surprising if it goes back up for anywhere near the $49.99 retail. It should be $39.99 at the most.
Nah, yea. It was
Nah, yea. It was unprecedented and no other game company has had similar issues in recent memory. The only thing that comes to mind is SimCity… So yea, it’ll be interesting to see what they ultimately do when they have a working product. And I agree. I would HOPE that Warner would see an opportunity to save face and engender some good will with the remaining fans. But i certainly dont EXPECT it. Hence the ‘entitlment’. And i dont think EA are predisposed to dropping their prices for ANYTHING…for ANY reason either. Hence the ‘naivete’ and ‘ignorance’. I know i wouldnt be holding MY breath.
And to be fair to S.P., my little rant is more about 1st world problems in general than speculation on how this company is going to behave in this particular scenario. Which is WHAT this article is about, and the EXACT question SP posed…just to be clear. But given some of the other comments, as well as increasing preponderance of other 1st world issues, I think the connection between the two is fairly obvious:
my iphone is 1 yrs old!! i need a new one!!! hmmmpff!
or my personal fav
Company ‘A’ isnt competing ENOUGH with company ‘I’ for my liking. And that makes me agwry!! Heathly competition is great for the consumer, and as a consumer, that is something i DEMAND. AND I will let my voice be heard!!! Revolution!! Revoultion!! –and then folks are perplexed/insulted when company A doesnt give them any review samples. One can be objective and critical, without being accusatury or downright cruel. Products are inatimate. Their creators (for better or worse) are not. What did u expect when u poopoo on the latter?
And having to wait half year for a piece of entertainment (assuming you didnt already invest etc etc), is the epitome of 1st world. Again, sry to SP. Kinda took things off topic. But meh. Good convo regardless. And keep up good work TR! No need to be lerbils or glemmings (or whatever theyre called) like some other folks around the interwebz. muahahaha…i like their site too, but yours is better 😛
uhh, hey guy. me thinks you
uhh, hey guy. me thinks you mean “keep up the good work pcper!” ??
In other words, we should not
In other words, we should not confuse customer service with entitlement.
As much as it would make
As much as it would make sense to offer the PC community some sort of peace offering, this is Warner Bros games – good decisions are not something they’re capable of. Thankfully almost none of the DLC content looks at all compelling, so we’re not missing out on much.
I just hope that all the changes intended to make it into the game after the September patch (including SLI/CF support) make it into the re-released build, if not it’s safe to assume they’ve rushed it out again in the only window they can expect to profit on. Once COD:BO3 starts the holiday madness on the 6th of November we’ll have too many new releases to care about Batman.
