Could it truly be enough to add a little Android to your Blackberry to bring them back to some form of popularity? From what this contributor at The Register has to say it could very well be what the company once known as RIM needed. The Priv is described as the least irritating Android phone they've ever used, which translates to high praise when you are talking about a Blackberry device. The sliding keyboard is actually useful, the BlackBerry DTek security app is decent but requires a Google account to be linked to the phone, as do many other apps. Check out the review to see if this is a berry flavoured Lollipop you might actually want a few licks at.
"Other than that, none of which really counts, I think this might be my least disliked Android phone so far. It’s at least as good as the best Android phones I have used, because it’s the same as all other Androids, just minus the garbage often layered on top. And it’s better, because the BlackBerry stuff layered on top is very far from being garbage."

So you blindly trust Internet reviewers for all of your tech purchases? Go and give one a test drive and form your own opinion. The phone is actually decent to use.

I base a lot of my purchase decisions on online reviews. Not just one though I read many reviews first unless its something I really want. Like the Priv, I’m going to buy one as soon as it comes to Verizon. And I hope they sell 5 million of them so we get a second gen.

I have a BlackBerry Z10. It is great. Dropped many times;screen never damaged. Love the Hub where you get all communications and appointments at a glance. Great screen, camera, great phone. The only thing missing was apps. Now you can have it all.

I hope physical keyboards
I hope physical keyboards (and other physical controls) make a comeback. Full reliance on touchscreens was one of the main reasons I never got into smartphones. Perhaps the UMPC dream can live again

— “I hope physical keyboards make a comeback.”
A long time ago all smartphones had physical QWERTY keyboards.
Then for a while companies offered both QWERTY smartphones and glass-slab smartphones.
But eventually glass-slab smartphones became the top sellers and the QWERTY smartphones disappeared. Even Blackberry made glass-slab models.
So… why will people want QWERTY smartphones again? What happened between then and now?
I’ll channel Ian Malcolm: “Physical keyboards had their shot… and the market selected them for extinction.”

I miss my last phone, a very basic qwerty function phone, what i miss is that I would hit the first, then the second unlock button, then tipe MOM, or JULIE (my beloved) or WORK, Or MATT, or whoever, and then hit call. With my newest smart phone, as cool as it is, it takes WAY more steps to make a fucking call. I hope PRIV can do better
