It's nearly time for the holidays to begin but that doesn't mean the hardware and software news train comes to a halt! This week we are hosting AMD in the PC Perspective offices for a live stream to discuss the upcoming release of the new AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition. Earlier in the month we showed you a preview of what changes were coming to the AMD GPU driver and now we are going to not only demo it for you but let the community ask AMD questions directly about it!

so is the 2.5x limitation for LFC a hardware thing or just software that they havent quite got right yet so dont want to release it? because that 48-75Hz LG is probably the monitor that needs it most, yet wont get it.

In the new UI I noticed that in crossfire, under individual game settings, there is now an option for AMD CrossFire Mode. It offers- disabled; Default mode; AFR friendly; optimize 1X1 and Use AMD pre-defined profile.

On the stream they say it sets freesync based on the Monitor ID…
If we override the EDID of a random DP 1.2 monitor with one that has freesync maybe we can force freesync on a non freesync monitor! (replace EDID is easy with some tools)
Maybe some monitors can tolerate variable sync intervals on the signal so it can work for a small interval?
