The Catalyst 15.11.1 beta has already been released and specifically addresses Fallout 4 performance. Go download it.

Videocardz has come through on the leaks – http://videocardz.com/57776/amd-launches-radeon-software-crimson-driver
Looks like some kind of frame multiplication is coming for below VRR window, it’s called ” Low Framerate Compensation”
Will AMD improve SteamOS
Will AMD improve SteamOS linux gaming performance for mainstream titles?
Had this problem with a Dell
Had this problem with a Dell P2715Q (4k 60hz) monitor using Display Port where if you turn off or allow the computer to hibernate, sometimes the monitor gets stuck in Power Saving Mode until you remove the power cord and plug it back in.
There is also an issue where if you turn off the monitor or your computer comes back to sleep, upon returning, all your windows get shrunk and shoved in the upper right corner of the screen.
I’ve checked online and this issue seems to be pretty wide spread among people who own 4k monitors using Display Port. Dell seems to suggest it not an issue with their monitors but with AMD’s drivers.
Is this true and if it is does AMD have plans on addressing the issue?
What is the point of having
What is the point of having overclock profile for each game? Is it for performance or power efficiency, how you end up with that idea?
AMD Hello, I have a HD 7790
AMD Hello, I have a HD 7790 graphics card and I wonder why the mantle are less than DirectX fps in Battlefield 4 if radeon crimson edition brings an addition to performance than beta catalyst 15.11.1
I want clear answer: laptop
I want clear answer: laptop DUAL GRAPHIC (amd apu + apu discrete) support YES or NO? (just yes or no, nothing more).
Questions:
Please detail the
Questions:
Please detail the new Feature: Low Framerate Compensation for FreeSync and better explain the range needed for the monitors to support it, and also give an example of an existent monitor or if not of a range that can actually be attainable for a monitor by today’s standards.
Also please detail Smooth Motion and Lower Motion Judder for the 2 cases when the game is below the minimum FreeSync range with V-sync enabled and disabled.
I would also like to know when will this new Crimson driver be available on Linux and what additional features it will it include.
Also explain what they did for the performance improvements in Linux and the confusion caused by the percentages seen here: http://cdn.videocardz.com/1/2015/11/VC_AMD-Crimson-Driver-33.jpg from this presentation http://videocardz.com/57776/amd-launches-radeon-software-crimson-driver. Is it actually more than double (over 100%), or is it actually the value – 100%.
Please also detail what is the next step for AMD, regarding software for their video cards, and what they would like to improve next in the new Crimson driver for Windows and Linux.
There are a couple of thing I
There are a couple of thing I would like to know from from the AMD techguy:
– yesterday I installed dota 2 openGL patch on my radeon r9 290x rig and I was very disappointed to find out that the frame rates were half of those in directx9. I did some research and find out AMD’s support in openGL is very poor compared to cometition, there will be some improvements in this regard? The linux community deserves better support in my opinion.
– I was a big fan of the trueAudio technology. Having a integrated DSP inside a videocard is so cool thing to have, ps4 implemented it too, but now, no one is talking about it. Are there any news about it? It will be implemented in vulkan/dx12? Are there any improvements at the sdk level, as the guys developing thief had some problems implementing it.
– I am very, very curious to know what is AMD’s concrete response/plan to contrast nvidias gameworks. Looking at the latest games released it is clear that gameworks is a very heavy middleware that costs lots of performance for both radeons and gtxs. Does Raja/amd’s technical stuff think that things can be done better than nvidia does? Are you guys going to do something about that?
I’m guessing it’s recommended
I’m guessing it’s recommended to do a DDU wipe before attempting installation of crimson?
Yes
Yes

Can we get a
Questions:
Can we get a Triple buffering check box for DirectX? It would be very helpful for some games and eliminate the need for 3rd party tools (I’m looking at you Dead Space).
Is it possible to do frame duplication with freesync when reaching the lower end of the refresh range? derp.. nevermind on this one 😀
Any plans to cut back on CPU overhead and improve DX11 performance? (much like those green bastages have?)
Dead Space runs at 30FPS
Dead Space runs at 30FPS using VSYNC, but if I force on VSYNC using the video control panel (NVidia for me) it forces 60FPS and runs very smoothly for me.
1. When you right-click the
1. When you right-click the new red icon in your taskbar you can go to a graphics profile subsection where you can choose between optimize performance, balanced and optimize image quality. Where do I see what these does and tweak then if needed? Seriously, I can’t find it.
2. You still use the traditional options menu for additional setting? Is this a temporary thing until you get it all in the new UI?
3. Your new UI is fast, pretty and not cluttered. In contrast the AMD Gaming Evolved app is slow, cluttered and a mess. The contrast is ruining it a bit don’t you think?
Another question for the AMD
Another question for the AMD reps, and if they can’t answer then hopefully PCPer can investigate it:
Now that frame multiplication is going to be done on the GPU itself for below VRR support, does this mean that some of the GPU processing power will be used to run that algorithm for frame multiplication, and if so, how much of an impact would that have on GPU performance?
GPU processing time is
GPU processing time is insignificant. All the GPU is doing is sending the same frame the GPU already rendered back to the monitor. The screen isn’t changing what it shows to you visually, but it prevents dropping out of asynchronous mode.
I’ll simplify over one second (it varies continously)->
For example, if you dropped to 29FPS (for 30HZ to 75Hz asynchronous range) it will output 58 actual frames. Visually it looks like 29FPS as each image is drawn twice but to the monitor it’s really 58FPS thus staying in the asynchronous range.
So not as smooth as true 58FPS but much better than 29FPS without this new improvement (which would have to drop back to VSYNC ON or OFF mode normally).
Whenever I use IE11 with
Whenever I use IE11 with Windows 7 (x64) OR Windows 10 (x64)and any version of AMD Catalyst software installed I am getting IE crashes for the last 2 years now. This is happening on 3 of my diff. computers and when searched on internet there are numerous ppl facing similar issue and the problem is AMD guys says its Microsoft driver problem and vice versa.
It happens when multiple tabs are open in IE, it force closes and when checked via Event viewer it says AMD display driver stopped responding – There is absolutely no fix for this.
I hope the new crimson driver wont be having similar issue and even if it does pls try to fix such a critical issue ASAP.
BTW, forgot to mention
BTW, forgot to mention running Sapphire 7870 and 7870XT on various PC.
My main question would be why
My main question would be why they are not keeping up with “game ready” drivers. It seems that they are losing ground to Nvidia due to not being able to keep up with the game market as well.
The Tech seems like it’s def. there but and I would like to see the software keep up. I’d like to REALLY use all the hardware without waiting for software to follow and support it.
My Question for AMD
Will the
My Question for AMD
Will the new Crimson suite include frame limiting functions similar to MSI Afterburner so that FreeSync users can stay just under the FreeSync ceiling ?
I really really don’t
I really really don’t understand why streamers insist on streaming during the hours when the majority of the US working populous is actually at work?!? Thanks for including people that have to act like adults, it’s always really helpful! /s
Because they are in the US
Because they are in the US and at work since it’s their work + any later and Europe would be sleeping.
2nd Question for AMD
Does
2nd Question for AMD
Does Crimson finally make the Fury X an “overclockers dream”?
Is AMD going to release any
Is AMD going to release any new APU’s for the AM1 platform? It was marketed as upgradeable but it’s had no new chips. Hardware H265 support would be a perfect reason to upgrade as many people bought into AM1 as a HTPC platform.
Does the new driver reduce
Does the new driver reduce latency for single gpus?
Im liking the newer look, far easier to get stuff set up
