A Detailed Look
The be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 1000W CM power supply enclosure is painted matte black with white lettering and measures 180mm (7.1”) long. The back panel includes an On-Off switch, AC receptacle and a large honey-comb grill area for good exhaust airflow. The PSU chassis is fitted with rubber sleeves around the front and rear panels to help reduce the transmission of any vibration to the PC case. The fan grill is made up of multiple parallel bars for minimal restriction and good airflow.
The power supply uses a 135mm SilentWings3 fan for cooling (BQ SIW3-13525-HF) that incorporates fluid dynamic bearings for quiet operation and long, reliable life. The sculpted fan blades are designed to reduce air turbulence and noise. The fan is rated for 0.56A and 1800 rpm at 12 VDC. The fan speed starts out very slow and is virtually silent. The fan speed gradually increases as the load and internal component temperatures increase.
Any case fans connected to the power supply will also follow the same fan speed profile.
The front panel includes a fixed 24-pin ATX power cable and fifteen connectors for the modular cables, all nicely labeled.
The white 3-pin connector in the bottom left corner is for attaching either the overclock jumper or the overclocking switch. When the overclocking feature is enabled (attaching the overclock key or turning the overclock switch On) converts the power supply from multi-rail to single rail operation on the +12V output.
The Dark Power Pro 11 power supply comes with an excellent assortment of tweleve fully modular cables for easy installation and clean builds. All of the cables are covered with black plastic braiding.

Here are a few pictures showing the layout and components inside the be quiet! Dark Power Power Pro 11 1,000W CM power supply. Be quiet! is once again using FSP Group as the OEM for the Dark Power Pro 11 Series. The layout and build quality appears very good.
FSP is using a modern, high-performance LLC power conversion design along with DC-toDC voltage regulators located on daughter cards to provide good voltage regulation and high efficiency.
All of the components are rated for 105°C operation and the two primary filter capacitors are made by Nippon Chemi-Con (KMQ 470 uF, 420V, 105°C).
