The Lenovo ideapad MIIX 310 is a 2-in-1 that combines a 10.1-inch tablet with a detachable keyboard, and when you consider the specs Lenovo is pricing this very aggressively at $229 – including the keyboard.
“This 10-inch tablet is one of the most affordable devices that not only combines both tablet and PC in one, but unlike many of its rivals, comes with a detachable keyboard as standard. The ideapad MIIX 310 boasts an optional FHD display, making movie marathons that much more immersive.”
The $229 retail is a starting price, and the 1920×1080 IPS screen option will cost you more (just how much is not yet known). Beyond the display the MIIX 310 is powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8300, a quad-core processor that operates at up to 1.84 GHz. Memory is limited to 2 GB, with up to 128 GB of eMMC storage available.
Here’s a look at the specifications:
- CPU: Intel Atom x5 Z8300 CPU
- Graphics: Integrated Intel
- Screen: 10.1” up to FHD (1920×1080) IPS, 300 nits

As mentioned above, the ideapad MIIX 310 will start at $229, with availability set for June.
$229 is a pretty kickass
$229 is a pretty kickass price for that!
I think that has a lot to do
I think that has a lot to do with where the Asus Transformer sits. It sells for a similar price, and is pretty much the exact same design in various flavors.
Similar to the Asus
Similar to the Asus Transformer products but with some key differences.
The Asus T100 chi is older so can be found for around $250 (third party Amazon), with last gen atom (Z3775 1.46 GHz with Burst Technology up to 2.39 GHz), but 16:10 screen (1920×1200), blutooth keyboard and only 64GB eMMC (vs MIIX 128GB).
The newer Asus T100HA is $300, slightly better cpu than the MIIX (x5-Z8500 1.44GHz, Turbo up to 2.24GHz), 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC and the huge weak point of the product, a 1280×800 screen…
So the MIIX is a much more aggressively priced product, compared to 1280×800 $300 T100HA, but I think Lenovo have to be when competing with Asus and especially after the Superfish debacle.
I was wanting to replace my Android tablet last year, and was looking at the two T100s. I ended up going with the T100chi as it was cheaper at the time, and for the sharper screen. It’s only used for light browsing, watching Youtube, Twitch etc, other media consumption and it has no problems with those tasks. The bluetooth keyboard is the only weak point, will occasionally bug out and require re-pairing.
It has 64GB eMMC, partitioned into 48GB + 10GB recovery. Of the 48GB available, currently 15.3GB is used up by Windows install (8.1) and some software. I probably won’t ever use much more than that as all my videos, music, pics etc. are on a 128GB microSD card.
I have a Miix 300 and it is
I have a Miix 300 and it is great. I am surprised there is no mention of older Mixx 10.1 tablets as they announce this as a completely new product category. The difference is the slightly different magnetic latch vs mine that uses a button latch, a newer and slightly faster processor, more RAM 4 vs 2, better 1920×1080 display. The first press release I saw said this 310 would have faster 8500 processor and 128 RAM hope they make BTO options. I got the Miix 300 about a month ago to edit videos while traveling. I edited a video on the plane using this tablet on Corel Videostudio x8 – slow but reasonable speeds, original video was 4K and this transcoded it to 1080p. You can find the video on YouTube searching for my post name here. One thing I really like is this Miix tablet has a USB cable to charge so you can use a powerbrick for charging it on the road. Hope they don’t change that as I plan to upgrade to the new 310 and looking forward to it.
I miss the ASUS Transformer
I miss the ASUS Transformer tablets that had an additional battery in the keyboard dock that would recharge the tablet.
