When we first looked at Rise of the Tomb Raider, AMD's cards had some issues with frequent and extreme frame time spikes. For the most part, all of that has been cleaned up through their recent driver releases. Even better, the CrossFire scaling appears to be on track, with slightly more variable frame times than SLI, but not by much. The two GTX 980 Ti cards are still faster than the Radeon Pro Duo, but, also, not by a large margin.

Bringing 4K into the mix shows us a bit more variation in frame times, with a repeatable hiccup at the start of our test runs pretty frequently. Once you get past that time span where it feels like memory limits are being breached, the result is a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience.

This table presents the above data in a more basic way, focusing only on the average FPS, so keep that in mind.
