The components chosen for this prebuilt system are an odd mix, the 6700K is paired with a GTX 970, though the rest of the components make sense, with 16GB of DDR4 memory, a 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD and a 2TB HDD. These are all installed in a Corsair 400C and the CPU is cooled with an Alphacool NexXos XP3 Light water block, NexXos ST3 radiator; it is the only component which is watercooled. Kitguru found the enclosure to be impressively quiet and the performance matched their expectations but they also felt that both the GPU and SSD should have been upgraded.
"The FiercePC Imperial Stormer is a gaming PC that squeezes a custom-built water-cooling loop and some very nifty lighting effects into a rather svelte Corsair Chassis. This enables a mighty 4.7GHz overclock for the Intel Core i7-6700K, which coupled with a GeForce GTX 970 – delivers some very good performance results."

It doesn’t seem like it is
It doesn’t seem like it is worth it to run a custom loop just for the CPU. The CPU isn’t that important for most games and a stock 6700k is fast enough that I wouldn’t water cool it for the performance. I would consider an AIO for ease of installation and to avoid having a heavy air cooler that could torque the CPU socket. I would rather that they water cool the GPU, if anything, but a lot if people would want to swap out the 970 after a while anyway. Water cooling blocks for GPUs aren’t really standardized like CPUs, although there are some swapable brackets. They should add some options to upgrade to a water cooled GPU, if the included custom loop can handle it.
I’ll never understand why
I’ll never understand why people still get the GTX 970 when the R9 390 is an infinitely better buy..
Oh wait, I do understand – it’s because of the superb Nvidia mindshare that they have.
I traded my R9 290 for a GTX
I traded my R9 290 for a GTX 770 because I didn’t want the hassle of the R9 290 with its constant throttling on the Windforce cooler. Plus I got artifacting and black screens all the time. Bunk card, same with the 7770 and 7950’s I previously owned. May perform marginally better, but is it worth it?
I had the complete opposite
I had the complete opposite experience.
Got a GTX 760 and the drivers were utter shite from day 1, every driver release would cause constant crashing – GFE was slow, bloated, and would often crash during driver updates.
After two years I’d had enough with the poor driver support, high temps, and poor overclocking and got a 290X.
Huge improvement for me personally, literally had no problems with the card or the drivers and Radeon Crimson is lighting fast and gorgeous in comparison to GFE.
I would be hard pressed to go back to Nvidia at this point, their cards and support just seem sub-par in comparison on every level outside of marketing.
JESUS you’re a fucking moron.
JESUS you’re a fucking moron. AMD is a joke. Their GPU’s are fucking poorly designed, and ugly as fuck, and fail 3-4x as often you dumbfucking poor ass peasant. Their loud as they get. Their product support is a non-existant both in and out of he channel. Only noobs, niggers, and faggots use AMD.
AMD was in catch up until the
AMD was in catch up until the R9. I guess it takes some people awhile to see that they have the edge now. Nvidia has been kind for awhile and has the pull with people.
Second decent article you
Second decent article you have written today, but FUCK KitGuru they are noobs. I beat one of them up at CES a few years ago. DUMBASS was talking shit about EVGA Jacob and I went over to that d bag and smacked him in the mouth. He hasn’t said a word about Jacob since. That I know of anyway.
This is a good system, good value. My company builds better, and if course we charge more.
EVGA Jacob is a bitch and
EVGA Jacob is a bitch and NVidia GPUs are for poor people and faggots

Are you saying that you and jacob are an item?
