Most reviewers agree, the new DOOM is a callback to the old days of run and gun shooters, not the overly prevalent cover shooters of today. The speed is the key to having fun, leaping up obstacles, chainsawing demons when you are low on ammo or simply putting your boot through them. The shotgun comes early and does exactly what you want it to, or you can choose different favourites from the arsenal you are sure to accumulate. Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN were hoping for a little more variation in the common demon types and the inevitable mod to enlarge the colour palette used in the game but are having a great time already. Check out their first impressions here if you have yet to find the time to play.
"It’s early doors of course, so anything I say below may well become incorrect depending on how things shake out later on. I also haven’t dabbled in multiplayer yet, but will go hang my hide out for an online beating a little later today. "

I will most likely play this
I will most likely play this game, but I’m not a die hard fan.
Since we all know publisher drop the price of games relatively quickly nowadays, I wonder how long before this title is in the digital bargain bin ? (sad to already label an upcoming AAA game this way)
Side note: in the late 90s video card drivers at a automatic stereoscopic (game developer didn’t have to code a thing)
I have yet to see any review of this capability for modern 3D glasses.
Its to bad, because I would love to put on a rift and load an old classic and get quality stereo 3D (without interlace, or ghosting)
What the hell are you going
What the hell are you going on about?
This game prove once again
This game prove once again that video game IS an industry.
It seems people like playing the same old crap for years…
Literally so, in my case, I
Literally so, in my case, I still fire up my Risen3D engine port to play Doom and Doom II every now and again. I use the Darkplaces port to play Quake (I) as well, and ePSXe to play Final Fantasy 8!
I think I fell off the “new game” wagon after Half Life 2… Unless you count Candy Crush Soda Saga…
I can safely say that this
I can safely say that this game is not bad but it’s honestly not worth $60.
It’s basically “press F to win” simulator, even on Nightmare difficulty the game is super easy and basically requires you to spam F.
Guns feel super poor, the game is linear as shit, $40 season pass, multiplayer is meh, the whole game feels “meh.”
I’d rather be playing some Doom2 mods..
It was $39.99 on cdkeys

I’m picking it up on monday.
I’m picking it up on monday. Games I’ve played recently have involved immersing yourself in missions and lore and magic.
Sometimes you just want to shoot stuff without that complication.
I’m even sticking to my ancient 1600×900 monitor. The 980Ti would push 1440p I think but the difference isn’t worth A$1000+ for a GSync monitor!
I’m impressed that all reviews I’ve seen have been positive too.
the new serious sam was a
the new serious sam was a great blow shit up game.
It also gets seriously hard.
UT4 is also great “and free”
Its great game play, and fun.. you don’t always need a story, sometimes you just wanna LAN up with your friends and kill shit.
