Relic was showing off what DoW III will look like in the usual E3 tradition, with an enhanced 'game play' video. Heroes are somewhat different than in the previous game, instead of leading a squad they operate on their own, however Gabriel does have an impressive upgrade to his Thunder Hammer. Also featured is something which is totally not a warjack; an Imperial Knight which is a scaled down Titan with a single pilot. Generally found guarding Ag. worlds they are the first of the Super Units to be revealed. Heroes will be Elite Units, faster but somewhat squishier than Super Units which will be much slower, vulnerable to anti-vehicle attacks but able to shrug off most other attacks. They can be chosen at the beginning of a mission and then deployed with Elite Points which you gain during the mission. The quotes over at Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN don't have a lot of detail about how the game will play but the video sure is pretty.
"For the benefit of good warboys and wargirls, here’s the not-really-gameplay-despite-what-Relic-say look at a grizzled Gabriel Angelos duffing up some Eldar with the help of his Space Marine chums and a 14-metre mech named Imperial Knight Solaria"

I remember seeing this during
I remember seeing this during E3, and honestly it looks awful.
The animations are clunky, the video itself is choppy and looks to be running at a silky smooth 20 FPS, and the gameplay looks akin to a DotA-like than an RTS.
The cinematic trailer was impressive but the gameplay trailer looks like a mobile game.
Oh well, at least I have Spacehulk: Deathwing to get my WH40k fix.
Looks very interesting.
Looks very interesting. Different isn’t bad. My only gripe is yet again we have Blood Ravens. At least IKS looks like coming from Adeptus Mechanicus itself as it bears AM color scheme (blue with dimmed white or whatever you name it). That’s nice!
Have to wait and see. DOW2 was boring in the extreme (after playing same story over and over again – Nice Hat! *wink* wink*). I hope they capture the spark that 1st DOW delivered.
And can’t wait to see some Necrons. If there are Eldar, Necorns can’t be far behind (or is that the other way round? 😉 ).
Check out that frame rate! I
Check out that frame rate! I hope that’s running on an AMD APU or something.
No, they were trying to run
No, they were trying to run it on a 1080, but it uses a lot of Async Compute and the 1080 couldn’t handle it.
