EVGA started showing off designs for a unique, and enormous, case in 2015. It has since been rebranded and has undergone some minor work at the plastic surgeon to emerge as the EVGA DG-8 series of chassis. EVGA sent me the flagship model, the DG-87, that features an integrated fan controller to operate intake and exhaust airflow individually. EVGA took some interesting chances with this design: it's bigger than just about anything we have ever used, it rotates the case orientation by 90 degrees so that what was normally your side panel window is now facing you and it routes all of your cables and connections through a side section and out the back side of the case.
If you haven't seen it before, this video is worth a watch. Expect a full review sometime in August!

Ugh. Here we go again with Ryan and his Nvidia shilling. How much did they pay you for THIS review, Ryan?

He’s reviewing a product, and
He’s reviewing a product, and a case at that. And your fanboyism is so strong you call him a “Nvidia shill”????
You low IQ AMD crowd just hate that they proved the 480 was dangerous. Please, do the PC world a favor, and stop talking.
Did you miss the (/s) at the
Did you miss the (/s) at the end of the comment? Do you just have no idea what that means?
Did you honestly think someone would call Ryan an Nvidia shill over an EVGA case and actually be serious about it?
Are you really that stupid?
Or did your own fanboyism take over and turn you into a frothing lunatic before you even bothered to give a rational thought to anything?
p.s. Just in case you really
p.s. Just in case you really are that stupid, I was mocking the people who accuse PCPer, and Ryan, and pretty much the whole staff of being shills every time they even suggest at an idea that they disagree with.
Seriously, take off your own fanboy goggles once in a while and look in a fucking mirror.
Actually they proved
Actually they proved absolutely nothing; however, they did motivate AMD to act quickly to address the concerns they had after confirming the work done by Tom’s Hardware. Dangerous? I am not aware of any injuries or deaths to body or pc components and I am certain they did not damage any of the hardware in the office by running the 480. I guess they did prove something, and not what they intended. That was that Raja is true to his word and he acted quickly to address the concerns of his customers, who he cares about.
“what we intended” was
"what we intended" was absolutely for AMD to fix the issue, just like any time we report on an issue. They fixed it. Mission accomplished. We confirmed what Toms was reporting because we were one of the few sites with that capability, and we also needed to clarify some points with Toms' methodology that were actually reporting the 480 to draw *far higher* than it was actually drawing. If we were truly against AMD, we'd be kicking back and blindly agreeing with the Toms 'max' figures, or we would have nit picked about the fixed 480 still clipping past 5.5A when overclocked (we didn't). We're not just out to get people here…
You’re a fucking idiot.

Oh what a surprise, another child who can’t think past the tip of his own nose.
For such a large case, water
For such a large case, water cooling support is very limited (only dual 420s). Caselabs does much better in that regard, but I guess they focus less on aesthetics.
I like the CRT look of it, but they need a beige version to make that really work
EVGA seems to be focusing on
EVGA seems to be focusing on entirely the wrong areas with this case, which looks nice, shows off hardware, and hides cables well but takes up a huge amount of space (especially with that sideways orientation), has lackluster cooling, poor build quality, and insufficient drive space given the size (no 5.25″ bays and not many 3.5″).
Everything that matters, this case gets wrong, and everything that doesn’t matter, this case gets right. All it needs is RGB lighting and it will be the pinnacle of poor priorities.

Seagate is offering 10tb hard disks how many do you need i havent seen anyone ever using more than 2 hhds although a few ssds is std i hae 2 ssds and 1 hhd
The capacity of this case is
The capacity of this case is probably enough for most people, but the same can be said of much smaller cases. A very large case should have a very large capacity, not just “enough for most people”
How well does it work with

Aside from being huge (love huge) – the non-squared top looks odd, and I’m curious if nobody uses CD/DVD/Card readers, etc. Where are they intended to go? Nowhere from the looks of it.

Can you show us it in more detail in review?

Time for a new wife, or just a secret steamer trunk hidden in that secret compartment where you hide the other stuff that the wife does not want you to enjoy. I have seen hidden man caves built into basement side compartments with whole rooms available and stocked up like fallout shelters with all the things the wife would not allow.
I’d to see some form of
I’d to see some form of monitor mount for this case with some hard points for attaching a monitor frame/mounting system for single or triple monitor configurations. The case itself looks very nice for a living room gaming system, and maybe some future case design could be made to have a TV or Monitor mount included as an option.

What kind of budget do you
What kind of budget do you guys think we’re looking at for a case like that? $300-ish?
I thought Ryan was sitting
I thought Ryan was sitting next to a hollowed out CRT television for a minute. That is the ugliest case I have seen in a long time. They should have at least added a pattern or alternate color somewhere on it so it wouldn’t be so monolithic. I will laugh at anyone that uses that case and rightfully so. Might as well just build a PC in a trunk if you need that much space.
