Thanks to DisplayPort 1.2's bandwidth being limited to a maximum of 17.28Gbit/s, shoppers looking for a high end variable refresh rate gaming monitor have a tough choice to make. Leave aside aspect ratio, colour depth and panel type for the immediate question; do you prefer the higher definition of a 4K display but with a limited maximum refresh rate or will you be satisfied by 1440p or 1080p with a refresh rate that can hit upwards of 200Hz? The Predator XB321HK chooses path of greater resolution, offering 3840×2160 but with a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz, on an IPS screen with 4ms grey to grey response time. If you prefer an MVA ultra-widescreen with a higher resolution, perhaps investigate the Acer Z35, if the XB321HK is closer to what you are looking for check Hardware Canucks full review here.
"With a sensible 4K form factor, a G-SYNC module and a stunning IPS panel, Acer's Predator XB321HK is the stuff gaming monitor dreams are made of. Unfortunately its refresh rate is limited by today's interface technology."

Those monitor feet look like
Those monitor feet look like clown shoes, but at least it doesn’t suffer from RGB-itis.
I think if I had to be stuck with 60hz max refresh rate, then this would be the way to go, even at 32″ the pixel density is at 137!
GSYNC is still doing some
GSYNC is still doing some highway robbery even during black friday week. that 27 Dell for like $500 is tempting but those $200 freesync monitors make you go hmmmmm
$100 off VR…. LOL
seriously… i think i’ll just go play some BF1 and not spend a dime.
Also, couldn’t hack my z77 motherboard bios to support M.2 NVMe as a boot drive.
PC market is getting no $$$ from me this year
Told someone that i’m not positive that i’ll buy another PC ever.
Oh no, the full PC industry
Oh no, the full PC industry is shaking now. People are so arrogant and self entitled nowadays… In the same fashion, “if blabla happens, I will move to Canada, or if you don’t fix this bug, I will never buy a game from this publisher again”. Who do you think you are and who cares? Come back when you represent 100K people, and then maybe you will matter.
hacked my motherboard bios
hacked my motherboard bios peasant. no need for upgrade AT ALL
you go ahead and spread your lies on the need to buy another PC because you need DDR4… LOLOLOLOL
The PC master race has been the victim of rape for many many years.
As of late there are running out of tricks. If you think Nvidia’s stock is jumping because of your silly graphics card you are more jacked in the head than those DNC riggas.
100K is right, that’s about all that is left. They are already having to give away titanfall 2. PC VR is DOA.
Arrogant, this is what the pc master race has been doing since day 1, talking trash for no reason.
Why don’t you go ask Alexa what she thinks of you.
Multiple personality disorder
Multiple personality disorder is no laughing matter … but it is worth a guffaw occasionally
Problem is that most of those
Problem is that most of those $200 freesync monitors have horribly limited VRR windows. Limited VRR windows are the achilies heel of budget Freesync monitors right now.
I too was looking at monitors
I too was looking at monitors and noticed a good Gsync display is just short of a VR headset. Why no monitors yet that support a higher version of DP?
If I could get 1440p, Gsync, 100hz+ and maybe HDR then I’d pay the premium. I just can’t find a decent panel that fit the first 3 without being significantly overpriced because of Gsync.
PS. (Jeremy – Fix the spelling of Sync in the title)
And that is cool you want to
And that is cool you want to wait until prices drop. I got my dell s2716dg monitor about 8 months ago on sale at about $450 and I’ve been loving it ever since.
The key here is, keep on the lookout for sales if you really want to get one soon.
Can you drop it down to 1080P
Can you drop it down to 1080P and do higher refresh?
I’m really hoping display
I’m really hoping display manufacturers adopt display port 1.3 for next year. Looking forward to a 30″+ 4K 120hz monitor to upgrade to next year. Maybe a debut at CES 2017? I can dream.
wait for DP 1.3?
