At 250GB and 72.7x44x12.2mm (2.8×1.7×0.4") this external SSD from ADATA is small in two ways which is a mixed blessing for mobile storage. You may feel somewhat cramped, however the device is very portable and inexpensive. The Type C to Type A USB 3.1 connection provided up to 427MB/s transfer speeds in The SSD Review's ATTO testing, Crystal Disk showing 341MB/s read and 376MB/s write. While those speeds are not up to the theoretical maximum for USB 3.1 they are still impressive for an external device. Check out the full review right here.
"The ADATA SE730 differs from many other SSDs, however, as it contains the characteristics of being waterproof, dustproof and shockproof, in addition to its small size. If you want storage that will overcome the elements, the SE730 just might be what you're looking for. In addition, this external SSD has a great price and can be found at Amazon for $120."

Will this be treated by
Will this be treated by Windows 7 as a hard drive, and not a thumb drive, for any windows 7 system image backups? With Windows 7/8.1 getting these all in one security updates I’m doing more system Image backups just in case any of the all in one security updates borks my windows 7 restore point functionality and I have to do a total re-image from my System Image backup. It should be backwards compatable with USB 3.0.
All external SSDs, USB
All external SSDs, USB thumbsticks or spinning disks are treated the same – As external drives.
Not when doing windows 7/8.1
Not when doing windows 7/8.1 System Image backup, just you try! Some Thumb drives will not be seen as a hard drive and windows will refuse to do a system Image Backup. Now that plain old file backup will work but not a Windows System Image backup. System Image backups are and exact Image of your system’s hard drive and any other partitions you include and windows will only do a System Image Backup to a Hard drive.

Please tell us the amount of backup reserve storage these SSD drive have?
