That thumbnail looks like Ryan is finally saying “What??!!!” in aggrevated and annoyed way because Ken keeps saying “hey dad, look at what I can do” over and over and over again to get his attention.
That A12-9800 is looking OK
That A12-9800 is looking OK one some games(1) in spite of having a Bristol Ridge Excavator V2 Core/module dsign and that Bristol Ridge platform supports AM4/DDR4 memory and the R7 graphics playing ROTH.
It uses GCN 1.3 (aka GCN 3.0) architecture, the same architecture as found in AMD’s R9 Fury line of GPUs
And is available for the home system builder market Now and not only OEMs like the SKUs where last year when the product was released. A12-9800 Radeon R7, 512/SPs, 800/base, 1108/boost, 65W.

And RX Vega 56 is Now on S–, woops SOLD OUT! AND Nvidia graphics cards prices could go up at the end of August!
Everybody and their dog wants a GPU for compute and gaming, and JHH at Nvidia says GDDR5/5X/6 prices are going up so Nvidia will have to charge double the extra cost of that memory because Nvidia needs its GPUs to cost more than AMD’s, or the Nvidia fans will not have any bragging rights.
Don’t worry Nvidia fans JHH will get that cost of Nvidia cards above Vega’s prices so Nvidia’s fans can once again call AMD users Peasants. How dare Vega cost so much and if Vega prices keep going up only the poorer folks will be buying Volta. Maybe that’s what AMD meant by Poor Volt[coverd] as AMD knew the miners would drive up Vega’s prices to get at that compute!
Well it’s good to be in the CPU/GPU hardware business because all that stock is getting sold, for whatever reasons! AMD should raise its wholesale GPU prices also and make some more money for a change, just like JHH does over at Nvidia!

The release of 4 core / 8
The release of 4 core / 8 thread mobile parts looks like a preemptive strike to prevent AMD from gaining market share in the mobile market, which is much more important than the desktop market currently. AMD will probably be selling APUs with 4 cores and 4 or 8 threads. I kind of doubt that they will compete in absolute power consumption, but GPU performance will probably be significantly higher and CPU performance will probably be close. Using the a GPU optimized process does have some advantages in density, which allows a high IPC core at lower clock speeds. It will not reach clock speeds as high as a CPU oriented process, but it doesn’t need to in the mobile space. I hope that AMD has a competitive mobile product also. It has done great things for the stagnant PC market stuck at 4 cores for years.
