Any AMD Raven Ridge APUs
Any AMD Raven Ridge APUs restructed to 15 watt laptop from factors are not going to game as well as if they where in a regular form factor laptop and allowed to run at 35+ watts.
Let’s hope that AMD will offer a top end higher wattage Raven Ridge APU variant for gaming laptops with dual channel memory/Fast DDR4 so the Vega graphics will not be too starved for bandwidth.
Then there is the question of what will the APU’s Vega graphics HBCC/HBC IP use for HBC if these first Reven Ridge SKUs do not come with any HBM2 to act as HBC. Will there be some eDRAM on Vega’s die to help keep the GPU from stalling waiting for slower system DRAM accesses or will AMD use some larger L2 cache size in the integrated Vega/Graphics variants. So as far as Raven Ridge/Vega integrated graphics is conserned, Where’s the HBC?
The music at the end of each
