Final Thoughts and Conclusions
Seasonic’s new FOCUS Plus series is a refresh of their mainstream power supply lineup. The FOCUS+ Gold and Platinum series will eventually replace several of Seasonic’s popular G and S12G series power supplies. During our testing the FOCUS Plus 550W Platinum power supply delivered excellent voltage regulation, excellent AC ripple and noise suppression, and excellent efficiency, meeting the 80 Plus Platinum criteria even while operating on 120 VAC mains at elevated temperatures.
The FOCUS Plus 550W Platinum power supply comes with a standard assortment of all modular cables with a combination of sleeved and flat ribbon-style cables. The 120mm cooling fan uses a high-quality Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) for long life and quiet operation. The power supply also incorporates Seasonic’s Hybrid Silent Fan Control which allows semi fanless operation when engaged. High quality capacitors are used throughout and the FOCUS Plus Platinum series comes backed by a 10-year warranty!

Our thanks to Seasonic for sending us the FOCUS+ 550W Platinum PSU to review!
The S12II 520W is $52
The S12II 520W is $52 including shipping on Newegg right now. The 430W is $47. The 550W S12G is $72 which is about what I would pay for this new model. There isn’t a very large market for $100 550W power supplies.
Computers are cheap these
Computers are cheap these days. I feel it is well worth to pay extra for more refined tech.

i would know if the EFFICIENCY would be HIGHER if tested with 230v….. yes?

Why is there only one PCI-E
Why is there only one PCI-E cable?
didn’t you notice a fast clicking sound when the fan starts to spin slowly (almost as if the blades were hitting some piece of loose plastic)? I’ve RMAd mine only to receive another new one that also does it.
