Microsoft is adding an Edge-y experience to mobile devices not running the rarely seen Windows Mobile. Android users who never heard of Arrow will now not know it as Microsoft Launcher; those who try will find a Chromium based browser which resembles Edge and knows a few of its tricks. iOS users will be running Safari WebKit wrapped all the way to the Edge of their screens. In both cases Edge will offer the same cross-system abilities as it does on PC, allowing you to immediately resume reading a document and sync apps from or to your mobile device. That functionality does have prerequisites, you would need to be using a PC running Windows as one of your devices and it has to have the Fall Creators Update installed, which hasn't yet been pushed out. If you haven't yet fallen asleep, you can continue on Ars Technica.
"As with Edge, the important part of the Launcher is the cross-device experience. Documents and photos has a "continue on PC" option that will open them up on a computer, making it easier to start working on the phone and then resume on a computer."

Jeremy, I know you have some
Jeremy, I know you have some personal problems with Microsoft that stem from your job, but do you think you could tone down the negativity a tad? It is borderline confusing to read. Microsoft is adding features (for free) that might be useful to people (like me), yet you write like they are launching a wholly useless product.
I use Edge for work on my Surface Book and it is by far the best browser in my experience. Chrome drains my battery at nearly twice the speed and it along with Opera and Firefox have numerous compatibility issues with court clerk websites and government websites that I need to access. Having Edge on my 950XL was wonderful since it synced my passwords, bookmarks, and reading list. Now that functionality will work on my new iPhone. I fail to see cause for negativity here.
Also, why did you mention that the fall creators update (which is a prerequisite only for the beta) is not out yet when the app itself isn’t going to launch until after the creators update is pushed?
I’m done ranting now. By the way, please fix the first sentence of the article.
Tailor my opinions and
Tailor my opinions and language to match yours? Nah mate, I think you taking what I typed out way too personally.
Oh, that’s a whole bunch of
Oh, that’s a whole bunch of ‘nope’. Zero features other than integration into other Microsoft services? Yeah, no thanks.
Has MS enounced anything
Has MS enounced anything recently about Windows 10 on ARM that can run traditional 32-bit desktop apps? I would still be interested in this in mobile. I know most people don’t want a phone that can double as a desktop due to all the cables/docks that are associated with it as a laptop is just easier but I am. The problem is the mobile interface and lack of apps from the MS app store right now.
The best option would be to have a phone described as above that could dual boot into Android or Windows 10 but I doubt Google would ever allow this.
