If you haven't noticed the links in previous posts, here is a list of the games you can grab for free today. First up is Good Old Games who are giving away Oxenfree, a point and click creepy adventure game from Night School Studio, a company formed by some ex-Telltale and Disney devs.
The next ones do come with a small hitch; you will need to install Ubisoft's UPlay to take advantage of the deal and to play the games. If you are willing to install the client, you can grab Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Watchdogs and World in Conflict Complete Edition.
There are also sales going on at Humble Bundle and GoG which are worth checking out if you want to spend a bit of money on your games.
Here is some more Tech News from around the web:
- Wolfenstein 2’s Gunslinger Joe DLC dives out @ Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN
- SteamVR On Linux Is Still In Frustratingly Rough Shape @ Phoronix
- Obsidian: No microtransactions or loot boxes in our next RPG @ HEXUS
- Now you’re engineering with portals: Bridge Constructor Portal released @ Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN
If you like third person view
If you like third person view games in this style, just black flag alone is worth the trouble of running Uplay, had a lot of fun with the ship battles. watch dogs, meh.
Ugh. I’m already getting
Ugh. I’m already getting crowded with steam, gog galaxy, and origin. Now I have to insall uplay too? I’ve already gotten a boatload of free games that I have never even installed once. Maybe I should pass on this…
This has been the year of free games for me, with path of exile, starcraft, starcraft 2 WoL, and my many uninstalled freebies like Mass Effect 2, MDK, Jotun Vallhalla edition, and more!
Quit your griping, they are
Quit your griping, they are free games! It’s a great problem to have 🙂
If you buy any Ubisoft game
If you buy any Ubisoft game even thru Steam it installs U-Play. Well worth it for Wildlands alone though.
I must be missing something.
I must be missing something. I son’t see any of the above mentioned Ubisoft titles free from within U-Play. Black Flag is discounted from $19.99 to $8 though.

Free is still too expensive
Free is still too expensive to have to install & deal with uplay.
What exactly do you have to
What exactly do you have to “deal” with when you install uplay?
Seriously? Its annoying that
Seriously? Its annoying that you need it,even if you buy a ubi game from steam, but it takes almost no mem, has WAY less random crashes then steam, and (atlest as far as we can tell) collects no meta-data, so why hate drm? Its just the world we live in
