Packaging and Parts
The BitFenix Whisper M 850W power supply arrived packed inside a shrink-wrapped retail box showcasing the unit’s features and specifications.
The power supply is protected by two thick foam inserts and all the cables and accessories are inside a black bag.
In addition to the power supply, the box contains a power cord, mounting screws, a User Manual, wire ties, and a package of modular cables.
(2) 4+4 pin CPU cables, (1) 24-pin ATX cable, and (4) PCI-E cables
(3) SATA cables and (1) 4-pin Molex cable
The Whisper M 850W power supply comes with a good assortment of all modular cables. (See table above for connector count and cable lengths.)
Note the bulky 24-pin ATX connector. The added size is due to three solid polymer caps under the hood to reduce any residual AC ripple.
Does the noise level table
Does the noise level table reflect the faulty power supply or the fully functioning version which they sent you later?
The fan noise listed is for
The fan noise listed is for the original PSU with the defective fan. I did not do a full re-test on the second PSU. I mainly wanted to confirm the fan was operating the way it was supposed to and it did. The fan in the second unit started up at power on and was very quiet through mid power (29.8 dBA at 3' with a background of 27.4 dBA).
