You may not have heard of Chuwi but they are not a new player, they have been around since 2004 and have been partnering with Huawei, Google, Microsoft and Intel to try to make it onto the world stage. This recently cumulated in a successful IndieGoGo campaign and the release of the SurBook convertible laptop. Inside is an Intel Celeron N3450 with 6GB DDR3-1600 and 128 GB eMMC flash storage with a 2736×1824 IPS touchscreen. The design which TechPowerUp tested cost a hair under $500, which is just about perfect for what you get. It won't win any benchmarking awards but for what it is intended for it seems to do well; check it out for yourself.
"Chuwi looks to conquer the convertible 2-in-1 market with their new SurBook. Featuring an all-aluminum shell and a rather large battery, it has the looks and specifications to turn a few heads, which may have something to do with its successful Indiegogo campaign in mid-2017."

They can’t be serious with
They can’t be serious with that name…that is borderline trademark infringement. Why would they want to pick a fight with one of the best funded legal teams in the world?
Not to mention, who would actually want to buy a product with such a name on it? Other than the eMMC it looks like a fine product, it’s a shame they didn’t give it an original name.
They already have the fairly
They already have the fairly well-known Hi10 and Hi13, so it’s odd they didn’t continue with that branding.
Listen, I know chuwi was
Listen, I know chuwi was already a good pilot, decent shot with a laser rifle and has a bad case of the “grrrrrssss”, but once those sw movies were over, I would have never thought he would have gotten into laptop manufacturing, but come on chuwi, you should have chosen a different name for the product. Even with your long history with lucas and now disney, even you can’t get away with a product name like that…
As an owner of a very similar
As an owner of a very similar tablet, the Chuwi HI13 I have to warn you guys, that very high resolution of the screen looks gorgeous, but needs a much better GPU than the N3450 offers. It just cannot drive a display with that kind of resolution.
Loading web pages takes forever, even using Edge (and who wants to do that?) and starting videos on Youtube means only hearing audio for the first 15-20 seconds while the GPU is trying to prepare the video portion, so you’re looking at a still image for the first part of every video. Very annoying.
I’ve had to force the resolution to 1080p on my Chuwi HI13 just to get somewhat acceptable performance. Which means I had been better off getting a cheaper tablet to begin with, or one with better features apart from the screen.
