Updated AMD patent
Updated AMD patent filings(1). And the Tech press did such a poor job reporting on AMD’s Implicit Prmitive Shader(For legacy games) problems(delays/cancellation) that most gamers do not realize that new games will be using Explicit Primitive Shaders. So AMD’s Primitive Shaders IP via Explicit Primitive Shaders usage is very much still alive but the games/gaming emgine makers will have to code for Primitive Shaders Explicitly.
Those r/Amd folks are really not to be taken seriously as they apparently do not Know the difference between Implicit Primitive Shaders and Explicit Primitive Shaders on AMD’s Vega GPU Micro-Arch. For AMD with “Friends” like r/Amd who needs enemies to put in any effort at all spreading FUD and disinformation about AMD’s GPU products and IP.

The folks that do the fine
The folks that do the fine wikichip online Chip Info/Chip IP refrence web/info portal have done a nice writeup of that AMD ISSCC 2018 Zeppelin slide/presentation on their related but article based Fuse webpage. So that’s a good informative read(1). Do pay close to that SerDes logic as that and the Infinity Fabric can be used to bring the Infinity Fabric out across CCXs/dies on the MCM across Motherboards to other CCXs/dies on other MCMs, and even out to other motherboards and discrete GPUs and create a sort of APU like coherency CPU to diecrete GPU also, as well as CPU/CCX to CPU/CCX die. And SerDes can be many times the bit rate of PCIe 5.0/other IP currently in use. This is an excellent deep dive and breakdown to go along with those ISSCC 2018 Zeppelin slides and thise article was just published today 3/24/2018.
