A Detailed Look

The Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium Fanless power supply enclosure is painted matte black and measures 170mm (6.7”) deep.  The back panel includes an On-Off switch, AC receptacle and open honey-comb grill.

All four sides and the top of the chassis have an open grill structure to help maximize airflow. Without a fan to provide forced air flow for cooling the fanless model must rely on passive convection cooling to keep all the internal bits cool. High efficiency really helps but at max power this unit still will have to dissipate almost 50 watts of heat.

Caution: It is very important to provide excellent case airflow for a fanless power supply to operate properly. The last thing you want to do is install one inside a sealed enclosure (or standard case with no case fans).

The front panel on the 600W fanless PSU incorporates ten modular cable connectors, which are nicely keyed and labelled. The upper third has an open honey-comb grill.

All of the modular cables are the flat ribbon-style except for the 24-pin ATX cable, which is sleeved with a black nylon mesh covering.

Under the Hood

Here are a few pictures showing the layout and components inside Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium Fanless power supply.  The overall layout and build quality appears to be excellent.

The Fanless 600W PSU features an advanced Seasonic PRIME circuit design for high efficiency. All of the capacitors used inside the PSU a nice mix of Japanese made electrolytics and solid polymer caps. The PRIME 600W fanless PSU uses two primary bulk capacitors made by Nippon Chemi-con rated for 450uF and 390uF, 400V and 105°C.
