AMD had a little fun yesterday as the head of Radeon Gaming, Scott Herkelman posted a comment about AMD's Radeon GPUs offering freedom of choice to gamers; unless they disapprove of the colour red of course. FreeSync is certainly a good example of this commitment, offering non-proprietary adaptive sync technology to display manufacturers; on the other hand those who favour penguin flavoured operating systems might take exception to their statement. Those shopping for GPUs in the near future should keep an eye out for new branding as the market seems to be poised for a bit of a change; either as a refresh of existing product lines or hopefully new products. The Inquirer has opined about the comment in this post; though we have not yet heard from their articulate and unflappable CEO.
"While AMD doesn't mention Nvidia by name, it noted that proprietary tech from other hardware brands can stymie freedom of choice when it comes to selecting PC components and systems."

[H]ard|OCP has got a new GPP story up and things are getting more heated!
Wow it’s some good times we are having now that AMD is more competative and AMD’s competitors are up to more nefarious tactics once again!
Why did you cut off the
Why did you cut off the picture? We need transparency.

It’s kind of funny to note
It’s kind of funny to note that the author of the article you linked used to work at AMD as Senior Technical Marketing Specialist and that describe its purpose as to “educate and entertain”, oh well, at least it was honest enough to avoid mentioning informing XD
Its also funny that AMDs
Its also funny that AMDs Scott Herkelman who is calling out Nvidia on GPP used to work for Nvidia as GeForce marketing executive.
Well it is the great
Well it is the great Marketing Mind Share Land Grab incident by the Green Goblin Monopoly to get by coercive methods those Independent Third Party AIBs and OEMs to hand over their long known by the gaming consumers Independent AIB/OEM Third Party Gaming Branding under the Green Goblin Monopoly’s Exclusive vertical control.
Now the Litmus Test for the US Justice Department’s antitrust division and the enforcnment of antitrust law is going to be: Is a market monolopy interest using its monopoly market position to enforce some form of Illegal vertical integration of any INDEPENDENT Third Party AIB’s/OEM’s by abusive coercive methods.
And it appears that the Green Goblin Monopoly interest is in fact enforcing an illegal vertical market integration of those Independent Third Party AIB’s and OEM’s Long Known the the Gaming Consumers Third Party Gaming Branding under that Green Goblin Monopoly interest’s virtecal market control.
The Green Goblin Monopoly Gaming GPU interset seeks by coercive methods(You AIBs and OEM’s will lose out by not signing up with our GPP if you do not align your long known to the gaming consumer Independent Gaming Branding under our(Green Goblin’s) exclusive control)! So The Green Goblin Gaming GPU monopoly is forcing AMD’s GPU products out from under those long Known to the consumer Independent Third Party AIBs’/OEMs’ Gaming Branding that the consumer has come to know so well over the years.
Sure that Scott Herkelman(Marketing Employee) is doing what his bosses told him to do and it does not matter who those bosses are as they are his bosses at this time.
But marketing only exists because the vast majority of consumers are such slack jawed yokels in the first place. Gaming Consumers who are so much more lower than that the lowest common denominator that they are even such egregious LCD/other Gaming Rig Bling Narcissists. Just look at those batmobile looking Gaming Cards and other Rig/Bling that those Slack Jawed Yokels so slobber over and trip all over each other posting on r/Nvidia or r/Amd their pretty pretty Rig pictures and wanting the other yokels to respond with sycophantically satisfying grunts of approvial. Gaming Rigs that could also actually be used as a display case at a jewelry shop even more than they could be used to house PC components.
Just look at all those Bling Narcissists more concerned with looks and other such nonsense than what really matters.
