If you are building a system on a budget, AMD is currently the king of the low cost machine. For a mere $55 you can grab the dual core, four thread, 3.2 GHz Athlon 200GE and it's three Radeon compute units, add in a motherboard for the same price, a spare SSD and the only major remaining cost would be the DDR4. The Ryzen 3 2200G is a better performing chip overall and is unlocked but it costs twice as much and might not be needed for some builds as you can game quite comfortably at 720p with the 200GE as Techspot demonstrates in their review.

The AMD Athlon™ PRO 200GE is the one for Busines Thin Clients as the Pro SKUs get better management features and longer warranties/longer peirods of guaranteed SKU availability. The Pro Branded parts may also be from a little better bin, owing to the 3+ year warranty the Pro Branding recieves for the enterprise market users.
I’m waiting for some Rave Ridge H series APU based ProBooks to show up for purchase to replace my ageing Ivy Bridge/Radeon HD 7650M(Terascale rebrand) discrete mobile GPU based ProBook. So I’ll bet I will not even need a diecrete mobile GPU as the RR H series APU’s Integrated Graphics is probably more powerful than that Radeon HD 7650M(Terascale rebrand) discrete mobile SKU.

Well work in your office but even office applications are making use of OpenCL and acceleration of spreadsheet tasks on the GPU, integrated GPUs or otherwise. And even for Browsing and Business presentations there can be WebGL/Other Graphics API driven Graphics Related tasks that can require a bit more GPU horsepower than Intel is offering. That’s a lot more shader cores on the Athlon’s Vega graphics than the shader resources offered on the Intel SKU and both the Chips’ GPUs operate at between 300Mhz and 1Ghz clock speeds and having more shader cores counts especially for the 32 bit FP processing where most of the number crunching is done.
Sure Gamers do not matter that much in the overall scheme of things but Graphics related taks for even the city planning department are bing used to visualize things.
But if you work in an office then you should Know what a cost/benefit analysis is and the Athlon 200GE has got twice as many processor threads running as the Intel SKU and that SMT is enabled on the Athlon SKU! So that’s more compute on the Athlon’s more processor-threads(4 instead of 2) which counts towards any proper cost/benefit analysis using that cost/processor-thread metric as well as the procesor’s total Cache size metric(Athlon has twice the L3 cache and then some) and PCIe lanes on the MB and the MB’s cost, the cooling solution’s costs, etc. With SMT enabled the average CPU core’s execution unit utilization rate can be as much as 30% higher than if SMT is disabled! And that dependes on the workload but still the more processor threads enabled the better the CPU core’s execution resources will be utilized!
Look at the wikichip entry(1) on the Athlon 200GE Pro variant that gets the longer term support and longer term product availibility for Business customers. And really you do not Know how to properly research and I question your office/business credentials unless, of course, you work in the mail room! 3+ year warranties on the Pro Branded parts and the same extended levels of firmware support for enterprise customers. For sure the Warrenty Engineers and Actuaries are doing the maths and usually that means the parts with the longer warrienties offered are pulled from the higher 5% to 1% top binned parts as far as that goes. And CPUs are binned on Power/Leakage metrics also in addition to other factors.
They have that Binning Process/Warrenty Period Science across the entire CPU/Processor industry with tables of figures that can be refrenced related to a processor SKU’s MTBF(mean time between failure) based on the binning process with power/leakage and other metics and how that affects a processor’s expected life time.
So the Pro parts are pulled from the top binned population of tested SKUs that have the longest expected life time, at least to the point where the warranty runs out and a little longer! 5+ years at the very least before the failure rates get higher in populations of Hundreds of thousands of processors. The maths can be fairly complicated but they have been doing that for decades and the processor makers have continued to refine QA/QC process so they can properly warranty their parts without breaking the bank.
