And Intel’s Gross Margins are
And Intel’s Gross Margins are going to take the hit while Intel moves to keep Epyc from taking server market share(1).
How Intel will be able to do this with it’s current CPU supply issues that they are having points to Epyc sales still going up regardless if there is no Stocks of Xeons around and the server customers needing the servers now rather than later. Competition is good for even Intel’s clients and many should still have some of their servers be Epyc based just to keep AMD in the game.
Intel currently can not match that Epyc/SP3 8 full memory channels per socket and 128PCIe lanes across all Epyc/MB offerings where Intel still heavily segements its Xeon Offerings.
Really AMD has a damn good server platform with First Gensration Zen based Epyc/Naples offerings and 7nm Zen2 based Epyc/Rome SKUs are already being evaluated.
