3DMark and Unigine Superposition

Before we get into the real-world game tests, let's take a quick look at relative performance across our tested GPUs with some synthetic benchmarks.

3DMark

Right off the bat, the RTX 2070 shows impressive gains in 3DMark over the 10-series GPUs. The RTX 2070 Black Edition is almost 50% faster than the GTX 1070, as well as 19% faster than the GTX 1080, and 14% faster than the Vega 64 in Time Spy Extreme. As expected, the RTX 2070 falls to the RTX 2080 with a margin of almost 20%.

Unigine Superposition

The margin between the RTX 2070 and GTX 1080 is much less in Unigine Superposition, only around a 4% performance difference. Similarly, the RTX 2070's lead over the GTX 1070 shrinks to 29% in Superposition, compared to the 3DMark result above.
