Everyone loves small form factor PCs these days, but there aren't many SFX power supply options that can keep up with the demands of increasingly powerful CPUs and GPUs. A number of companies have been able to hit 600 watts, and SilverStone was able to reach 800 watts, but only via its "SFX-L" form factor, which is slightly larger than the official SFX specification and therefore doesn't fit in all situations or case configurations.
But SilverStone is back with the first true SFX PSU that hits 700 watts. The SilverStone SX700-G is an 80 PLUS Gold-rated power supply with a fully modular design, single +12V rail, and a 92mm fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) fan tuned for silent operation at low loads.
The SX700-G includes SilverStone's flat cable design for easier cable routing and enough power cables to connect up to two GPUs and six SATA drives. It is launching with an MSRP of US$155.99 and should reach retailers in North America by mid-December. Check out the complete list of specifications below.

Now if I was only comfortable
Now if I was only comfortable putting a CPU higher than 65W in a small form factor build.
i have three mini itx builds
i have three mini itx builds with 2700x’s and they are fantastic
one has a vega 56, one has mini 1080, and one has a saphire special edition 580 8gb
i used a small corsair all in one on one, and a low profile noctua on the others, and they are all running aroung 4ghz on all cores without doing anything
i am using 32GB of Gskill 3200 memory and just set the bios to xmp and it runs as advertised with correct timings
the machines are relatively quiet, with the one with the corsair aio very quiet
i didn’t use a SFX psu, but that would have made airflow even better
i hope this makes you a bit more comfortable
with ryzen, i can have my cake and eat it, meaning i can have a pretty much no compromise killer box in a mini itx build
not sure i will ever go back to atx
I’d love to see a
I’d love to see a size-focused mATX case that used only SFX units.
I’m not sure off the top of my head how much space would actually be saved, but it would be interesting to see given that a 700W PSU could power certain SLI/CF builds.
Kimera Cerberus?
Kimera Cerberus?
Didn’t everyone go back to
Didn’t everyone go back to Corsair in the 600W sfx lines because the SilverStones were unusually loud? I wonder if that has been corrected as of yet?
