In case you have yet to hear, TSMC's production line is suffering after ingesting some sub-par chemicals, which has "caused wafers to have lower yield". It was originally reported that it was the 16n and 14nm process nodes which were effected, used by NVIDIA and MediaTek GPUs as well as AMD's Xbox One X and PS4 APUs.
The Inquirer followed up with TSMC who stated the initial reports were incorrect and that it is roughly 10,000 wafers on the 12nm and 16nm nodes at Fab 14B in southern Taiwan which received the bad batch, nodes used by Huawei, MediaTek, and NVIDIA but not AMD.
TSMC still expects to meet market demands; they have dropped enough from last year that they announced expected Q1 2019 revenue will decline by 22%. Hopefully this is not the start of another problematic year for TSMC, who had to deal with a WannaCry infection last summer.
AMD, with their focus on the 7nm node, might have a bit of an opportunity if this does cause any temporary shortages of NVIDIA GPUs on the market.
So the XBONEX and PS4 TSMC
So the XBONEX and PS4 TSMC production that make use of AMD’s Non Zen core semi-custom designs currently are safe and AMD’s TSMC/7nm production was never affected.
AMD’s 14nm/12nm GlobalFoundries CPU/GPU production is still going to be ongoing 2 years from now what with all the Epyc/Naples and Ryzen Pro extended product availability guarantees in place for AMD’s enterprise/server CPUs and business grade CPUs/APUs(Ryzen Pro) that come with advertised 3+ year warrianties and 2+ years of product availability guarantees for any OEMs that make use of the Epyc/Naples or Ryzen Pro branded parts.
I’ll bet that there will still be some 12nm GF/AMD videocard production ongoing also even 2 years from now for some OEM clients. AMD’s GF 14nm Epyc/Rome and Ryzen 3000 series desktop I/O DIE supplies will be in production at GF for a good while. And that I/O DIE could probably be updated for the desktop Ryzen I/O DIEs at GF’s 12nm lines. The Epyc/Rome server market GF 14nm I/O DIEs are going to stay 14nm because once server parts are certified they are not changed that often and any new changes require another long vetting/certification process.
AMD should probably also be looking at Samsung’s 7nm node for a second source of 7nm production to insure against things like what just happened to TSMC’s 16nm/12nm production.
TSMC’s QA/QC folks let some impure hooch get past the inspection process and that Mojo Juce fouled up some wafers.
It’s not like Nvidia is selling mad numbers of consumer RTX Turing SKUs and even Nvidia’s Server/AI GPU sales are off since the economy began to cool off world wide and especially in China. But any Chip Maker needs to keep their production going across 2 different Fab companies and maybe keep some of their own QA/QC engineers located at the chip fabs to double check the chemicals coming in that will be used to make their respective products.

Lisa Su’s/AMD’s most
Lisa Su’s/AMD’s most important server market share target of 5%(Middle Single Digit server market share by the end of 2018) has been achieved. It’s will take AMD even less time to get to 10% server market share what with Epyc/Naples sales alone responcible for the first 5% and Epyc/Rome incoming for start thise year. If you look at the worldwide TAM for servers, especially x86 based servers, each percentage poin of server marke share gained represents hundreds of millions in revenue gained on a yearly basis.
“The second 5 percent chunk of server shipment market share for chip maker AMD is probably going to come easier than the first 5 percent share, which was attained as AMD exited the fourth quarter and, significantly, was a stake in the ground that chief executive officer Lisa Su drove into the ground in late 2016 as the “Naples” Epyc ramp got under way.” (1)

It informs on AMD’s server
It informs on AMD’s server market share target being met and gets chipman TRIGGERED at the same time!
And we do Know that AMD achieving that Lisa Su Stated target of: “Mid single digit server CPU market share by the end of 2018” really pisses chipman off!
Old chipman, no actually chipmanchild, is now stomping his feet and gnashing those green teeth. Oh the Joy at that deliciousness of those salty tears of rage from chipman(Baffoon)! That’s the taste of AMD making that 5% goal on the way to some low double digit server CPU market share numbers in 4 to 6 business quarters. And I’ll bet the 10% plus server share target gets met closer to the 4 business quarters time frame.
Look at chipman’s single cell of grey start to twitch and heat that sea of fat that surrounds that single little enfeebled cell of grey. Look at that chipman stomp his feet and now that cell’s twitching has gotten that sea of lard heated up to 360 degrees F and smoke is comeing out of those hairy chipman ears.
Wow oh WOW! chipman’s head got some ‘sploding to do now that AMD’s at that 5% target and GROWING! [Earth shattering Kaboom! And that’s no Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator that’s chipman’s head]

It appears that even insiders don’t believe in the company! :o)
Insiders do not own enough of
Insiders do not own enough of the Company to matter much but keep it up, chipman! Because all while you have attempted to make AMD look bad it’s really the truth that Nvidia has lost more in billions of dollars of share holder value since Oct 2018 than Nvidia is currently worth! And that’s what has got you so very very TRIGGERED!
Look at the tears flowing from old JHH as he’s been crying every night and ruining those expensive Emperor of China silk sheet sets! He wishes that he insider sold most of his Nvidia shares in Oct 2018, oh the CEO Pain, Will Robinson, the terrible CEO pain!
AMD will soon be earning more revenues on Server CPU sales than Nvidia earns on its mostly limited to the GPU market revenue stream!
I find your sensitivity
