A Detailed Look

The Cooler Master MWE Gold 750W Full Modular power supply enclosure is painted black and measures 160mm (6.3”) deep. The back panel includes an AC receptacle, main power On-Off switch, and an open honey-comb grill for good airflow.

The power supply uses a 120mm, five blade fan on the bottom for cooling.  The Cooler Master labelled Silencio fan (DF1202512RFLN) is rated for up to 2500 rpm and 0.16A at 12 VDC. It features an LDB (sleeve bearing) for quiet operation.

The front panel on the 750W Gold Full Modular PSU incorporates nine modular cable connectors nicely keyed and labelled to prevent inadvertently plugging a cable into the wrong connector.

All of the modular cables are the flat ribbon-style except for the main 24-pin ATX cable which is sleeved with a black nylon mesh covering.

Under the Hood

Here are a few pictures showing the layout and components inside Cooler Master MWE Gold 750W Full Modular power supply.  While not the cleanest layout we’ve ever seen, the overall build quality looks good and we didn’t see any problems with soldering.

The MWE Gold Full Modular series features a full-bridge design coupled with LLC, Synchronous, and DC-to-DC topology technologies. The main bulk electrolytic capacitor is made by Elite and rated for 470uF, 400V, and 85°C. This is the first time we have come across an Elite capacitor and we were a bit disappointed to see the 85°C rating considering Cooler Master’s claim to use “high quality, heat resistant components”.
