TAILS is a Debian based Linux distro, specifically designed for you to boot from a USB to avoid storing any data locally as well as providing tools to keep online eyes from prying into your business. Even those who have become jaded over the years by their knowledge of the prevalence of online tracking raised an eyebrow over the past week with the news about tracking by Apple, Google and Facebook, to name just a few. TAILS will protect your browsing with TOR and as you are booting from a USB you won't end up with new trackers on your system. The new version is based on the 4.19 kernel, with the variety of updates that offers, especially when it comes to graphics cards. The Register has some advice before you install it though, which you can check out here.
In other news, we are sad to announce Ryan failed in his attempt to takeover Intel.
"Hot on the heels of Apple's latest privacy blunder, The Amnesic Incognito Live System (TAILS) has emitted version 3.12."

elaborate, what did he do and what is his punishment for failing?
Bob Swan got to keep the job
Bob Swan got to keep the job … and now we can't let Ryan back into our gaggle.
I thought Intel was zeroing
I thought Intel was zeroing in on Dogbert for CEO, I mean that’s the knd of CEO that Intel has had in the past before they hired that Krasandwich guy!
Dogbert would have made use of the brown envelopes stuffed with the green at even more than Paul Otellini levels and that’s esentially what all that Laptop OEM Marketing, Engineering, and other assistance amounts to.
The entire non Apple Laptop market has become so dependent in that similar sort of incentive structure that the old Oil Trusts made use of up until Teddy and the Antitrust laws stepped in to stop that nefarious nonsense and level the playing field.
I suspect that Intel’s Kaby Lake G deal is part of the reason that there has not been much in the way of Discrete Vega Mobile GPU SKUs with 4GB OF HBM2 available for the non Apple laptop market, that and Apple must have some exclusive deals also as it’s the only one with AMD Disccrete mobile vega/HBM2 options!
Laptop OEMs appear to be too dependent on one CPU part’s supplier’s largesse and AMD still lacks sufficient funds to match Intel’s laptop OEM marketing perks and other technical assistance. There is a whole lot of laptop non CPU oriented IP that Intel controlls like TB3 and other sorts of laptop IP that AMD has no access to for laptops.
AMD’s laptop market penetration still is not as widespread as Intel’s and just look at the Mini-Desktop OEM market where any Raven Ridge APU SKUs are mostly no where to be found. I see one STX form factor Barebones announced with AM4 and Raven Ridge capabilities has just been announced.
In the laptop market Intel has become a shadow ODM with the laptop OEMs mostly affixing their labels to the parts. That’s what Intel’s Ultrabook(TM) initiative was all about bringing that Apple like overpricing to the PC market and Intel funding the development as a shadow ODM to the laptop OEMs. Here laptop OEMs Intel will design this Ultrabook form factor and do all the hard engineering work and you laptops OEM will take our Intel CPU/SOC SKUs because that’s the whole Idea of and focus of the enginnering work for Ultrabooks.
But Now Intel’s consumer SKUs are on the back burner because of that 10nm delay fiasco and the laptop OEMs have to wait in line because Intel will be using 14nm++++ for mostly server parts production needs.
ha, for a nano-second it
ha, for a nano-second it almost seemed like you were going to report that Intel closed down the dept. Ryan is in and he was desaparately trying to get back with PCPer as a lowly intern.

No M$ that’s not it look at your Windows 10 lack of QA/QC and that update forcing, crapware forcing and spyware baked into the OS for those lack of revenues. AMD makes some very fine x86 based SKUs also so that Intel shortage is only relevent for those OEMs that are locked into Intel’s incentives that take the form of marketing, engineering and other forms of Intel incentives/help. That’s mostly the Laptop OEMs that are dependent on Intel’s largesse.
So maybe M$ take a good long look at that trainwreck of an OS that is 10 and its various forced aspects and crazy update cadence along with a total lack of the necessary in-house QA/QC staff as the main reason for tumbling Windows revenues!
Wait for 2020 and see even more folks look at alternatives to any Windows OS/Software ecosystem.
P.S. M$ if you want to increase your Windows related revenues for the next 3 years start offering everyone with a Windows 7 license the option of purchasing extended windows 7 security updates until 2023. Currently only the Enterprise/Volume licensing customers have that extended windows 7 security update purchase option.
But, M$, make that option avaialble to all Windows 7 licensees and watch as your windows revenues rebound and go above normal for the next 3 years at least!
I hope MS revenues continue
I hope MS revenues continue to fall until they are forced to abandon W10.
