ASUS has announced a trio of new displays from their TUF Gaming line, with 27-inch and 32-inch models each offering the company’s ELMB-SYNC dynamic refresh rate technology. What is ELMB-SYNC? The ELMB stands for Extreme Low Motion Blur, and based on an earlier report from TFT Central it’s a strobing backlight mode that is similar to NVIDIA’s LightBoost technology which you can read about over at Blur Busters.

In addition to using this backlight blur reduction technique the monitors are also Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync compatible (hence the SYNC in ELMB-SYNC), with refresh rates ranging from 40 – 155 Hz from the 27-inch VG27AQ and VG27BQ models and 48 – 144 Hz from the 32-inch VG32VQ.
