be quiet! at Computex: Pure Base 500 Compact ATX Case and New Power Supplies
Company’s First Compact ATX Case Design and New PSUs
be quiet! had a trio of new products at their booth on the Computex 2019 show floor, with the new Pure Base 500 enclosure and two new power supply models from the Straight Power 11 and System Power 9 series.
Pure Base 500
The Pure Base 500 combines high functionality and a low price point according to be quiet!, and though it is much smaller than enclosures like the recently reviewed Dark Base 700 and Dark Base 900 v2 it still offers support for ATX motherboards as well as larger cooling solutions, and holds up to 5 SSDs or 2 HDDs.
Additionally the Pure Base 500 case offers an interchangeable top cover, “designed to either block out noise from the interior or open up additional cooling capabilities” according to be quiet!. To keep the build tidy be quiet! says cables can be routed under the integrated PSU shroud or behind SSD covers, with easy slid-in PSU installation via a rear bracket.
360mm radiator support is listed along with space for high-clearance coolers and large GPUs, and the case includes a pair of pre-installed 140mm Pure Wings 2 fans. This is a be quiet! enclosure, so as with their larger enclosure designs naturally there is sound insulation inside, with material lining side and front panels.
The Pure Base 500 will be available with a choice of side panels, with either a tempered glass option or a solid panel lined with additional sound insulation. As to a release date, be quiet! is projecting a September 2019 launch.
Straight Power 11 Platinum
The new Straight Power 11 models are the first in the series of offer 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency, and with the move from Gold to Platinum comes wattage increases across the board. The new Straight Power 11 Platinum power supplies will range from 550 to 1200 watts, and are scheduled for a November 2019 release.
System Power 9 CM
The System Power 9 are the current cost-conscious PSU option from be quiet!, and the new System Power 9 CM introduces a semi-modular cable design and slightly better noise levels, according to be quiet!. The ATX 20+4 and 12V 4+4 are attached sleeved black cables, with removable flat black cables for everything else. The new PSUs will offer 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency and range from 400 to 700 watts, and are estimated to launch in July 2019.
