MSI Announces AMD X570 Gaming Motherboards
New Motherboards to Support AMD’s Ryzen 3000 Series CPUs
MSI has no fewer than six new motherboards for AMD’s X570 platform (seven if you add the X570-A PRO which does not appear to have a product page just yet), adding to the outpouring of motherboard love to we’ve seen from the usual suspects at Computex. A pair of these new boards had already been previewed during an MSI Insider live stream prior to the show, but we now have details and specs for each board.
Among the new features common to each of these new X570 motherboards is active cooling, which MSI is handling with their new Frozr heatsink design with integrated fan.
"To support higher core counts and to meet the demanding requirements of AMD’s upcoming new processors, more aggressive thermal solutions are needed. MSI X570 motherboards feature the new Frozr Heatsink Design, with a patented fan design integrated into the heatsink. This fan has a double ball bearing core for durability, Propeller Blade Technology to generate high airflow with low noise, and Zero Frozr Technology which automatically adjusts the fan speed depending on the chipset temperature."
Other features include M.2 heat spreaders called Shield Frozr, which MSI says is “necessary addition to cool down M.2 devices and prevent throttling”, Core Boost with IR digital VRM for premium power delivery, server-grade PCB construction, and a new version of MSI’s Dragon Center software which adopts Microsoft’s UWP.
On to the new motherboards!
MEG X570 GODLIKE – “One board to rule them all”
The MEG X570 GODLIKE sits at the top of MSI’s X570 product stack, designed to appeal to both hardcore gamers and enthusiast overclockers.
Features exclusive to this GODLIKE motherboard include:
- Dynamic Dashboard withOLED display
- Killer Networking solutions including Killer xTend and Killer Wi-Fi 6
- Xtreme Audio DAC built with a selection of premium audio hardware
The MEG X570 GODLIKE also offers a new Frozr heatsink design with an extended heat-pipe for better heat dissipation along with the M.2 Shield Frozr, and of course this is a fully RGB-enabled motherboard with MSI’s Mystic Light Infinity II, which adds new lighting effects including infinity mirror reflection effects.
As we have come to expect with these high-end models the board is bundled some premium accessories, and includes MSI’s M.2 XPANDER-Z Gen4 card to expand M.2 Gen4 SSD support and a 10G Super LAN card.
MEG X570 ACE
Beyond its golden trim and Mystic Light Infinity mirror reflection effects the MEG X570 ACE motherboard offers such features as built-in Wi-Fi 6 networking plus dual NICs including a 2.5G gaming LAN.
The MEG X570 ACE is also equipped with an ESS audio DAC for hi-fi audio, and like the rest of MSI’s MEG series it also includes the Extended Heat-Pipe Design connecting the heatsinks for enhanced thermal dissipation.
PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
This high-end uption ups the network speed to 10 Gigabit with a 10G Super LAN among the integrated dual NICs, and like the MEG X570 ACE this board also offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. The PRESTIGE X570 CREATION is also offered in a package similar to that of the GODLIKE board, bundled with an M.2 EXPANDER-Z Gen4 card.
The Frozr Heatsink, Extended-Heat-Pipe, and M.2 Shield Frozr are all here as well, and this board offers MSI’s exclusive Creator Center software “made for designers and content creators with optimized system modes and resources for a wide range of scenarios and needs”.
MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON and MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI
The MPG series starts with the X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI, which features MSI’s Mystic Light offering “colorful customization with millions of colors and 29 LED effects”, and Wi-Fi 6 AX networking for wireless speeds of up to 2400 Mbps.
For its part the X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI uses an Intel solution rated at up to 1733 Mbps, and both boards feature MSI’s Frozr heatsink designs and M.2 Shield Frozr for those ultra-fast PCIe Gen4 SSDs.
MPG X570 GAMING PLUS
A more affordable option that still offers the same level of thermal dissipation as the more premium boards via the Frozr Heatsink, Extended Heatsink, and M.2 Shield Frozr, the MPG X570 GAMING PLUS is designed “for gamers who just want to focus on playing for fun or for competition”, with “an uncomplicated and essential platform for gaming quickly with AMD Ryzen”.
Pricing and Availability
Like so many announcements for upcoming products this did not include pricing, but it’s fair to assume availability will correspond with the launch of the new Ryzen 3000 series CPUs (which launch on July 7th).
