AMD Details the Architecture Behind Navi GPUs

We have already seen how impressive the performance of RDNA can be, even with the Radeon 5700 Series topping out at just 40 CUs. Navi has significantly out-performed the previous Vega (GCN) architecture when compared to Vega 56 and Vega 64 in gaming performance, coming close to even the flagship Radeon VII with its 64 CUs and ultra-high bandwidth memory.

AMD Publishes RDNA Whitepaper: Inside the Navi GPU Architecture - Graphics Cards 2
“The RDNA architecture is optimized for efficiency and programmability while offering backwards compatibility with the GCN architecture. The new RDNA whitepaper details the underlying technology of the architecture, including the system architecture, shader array and graphics functions, execution units, cache and memory, advanced visual effects, the Radeon Multimedia and Display engines, and much more.”

You can find the deep-dive analysis of the RDNA architecture from AMD by following this link, and you can download the newly-published whitepaper here (PDF).
