Acer Introduces More ‘Affordable’ $14,000 Predator Thronos Air Immersive Gaming Chair

Acer knows that it went a little bit nuts with the launch of its Predator Thronos gaming chair at last year’s IFA show in Berlin. Sure, the chair’s triple-display setup with a motorized “Zero-G” reclining system looked incredible, but with a price tag of $20,000, it was just a tad out of reach for most gamers. So this year Acer’s back with a more…budget-friendly version: the Predator Thronos Air.

The Thronos Air ditches the motorized recliner and monitor arm in favor of manually adjustable alternatives, but features the same steel design with support for up to three displays, an adjustable keyboard and mouse tray, convenient foot rest, and built-in back massage function. An elevated platform for your high-end gaming PC is located behind the chair to keep it out of the way, and an integrated cable management system routes your cables exactly where they need to go for a neat and tidy appearance. There’s even an optional cup holder.

The result is a price of just $13,999. And a reminder, of course: that doesn’t include the displays, gaming PC, or input peripherals.

For those able to afford it, Acer promises that the Predator Thronos Air will give gamers “a fun, immersive way to lose themselves in the game within their very own battlestation.” Availability in North America starts in the fourth quarter.
