4.4 On All Cores! Ryzen 9 3950X Is Set To Impress

Gigabyte Spills The Beans On Ryzen 9

Hexus spotted a wee little something which shouldn’t have been there when reviewing Aorus X570 overclocking guide PDF; specs on the soon to be released Ryzen 9 3950X.  According to Gigabyte’s findings the 3950X has a Max Boost frequency of 4.7GHz on a maximum of two cores, but they were able to hit 4.3GHz across all cores with a VCore of close to 1.4V.  Having all 16 cores hitting that speed should cheer up fans of AMD disappointed by the current Ryzen family’s inability to hit advertised speeds at launch.

Those just looking for performance will also be happy, as 16 cores running at 4.3-4.4GHz will offer a multithreaded advantage over the Core i9-9900K’s 4.6GHz on eight cores.  Take a peek at what Hexus saved over there, as you won’t find that guide on Gigabyte’s site anymore.

In Gigabyte's own tests it was found that "the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X can hit around 4.3GHz using around 1.4V Vcore". If you go to the end of the PDF, you will read that this is the limit for many samples Gigabyte tested but it did get one stable at 4.4GHz, and it shared a Cinebench R15 run at this speed (score 4475cb).
