“I Can Still … How Do You Terrans Say It… Throw Down With The Best Of Them!”

The BitFenix Formula Gold 550W PSU is not modular which helps reduce the price, but also uses a 120mm rifle bearing Martech fan which is both quiet and a bit more expensive than the usual fans you find in PSUs, which means it comes in at around $70.  That puts it in the middle of the pack, though The FPS Review appreciates the quiet operation, they can’t help but wonder if it a price cut would make this model even more attractive.

This BitFenix unit passed all of their tests successfully, which makes it a solid choice for someone looking for a small and quite PSU, especially if they are in love with the fire chicken emblem.

BitFenix is a rather new company in the enthusiast realm having been founded in 2010. Much of their early portfolio revolved around cases/chassis. Today, however, BitFenixs’ product portfolio includes chassis/cases, fans, various accessories, and power supplies.
