Microsoft’s Christmas Present, The Return Of Ads
The Ad Supported OS; Unless You Subscribe To O365
You may recall the outrage last year when Microsoft started inserting ads of their other products into the mail and calendar apps which ship with Windows 10, which they finally removed after several months of complaints. If not you may get to experience it first hand in the not too distant future as they plan to revive this unpopular feature in their current operating system and apps.
For mobile users this may prove extremely frustrating, for instance when using the Outlook mobile app the ads are not properly scaled and you may be unable to access your emails as they are buried behind an add touting the benefits of using Outlook for mobile devices. The Inquirer points out you can get rid of the ads by purchasing an O359 subscription; though why you would then use the somewhat crippled bundled version of Outlook, albeit ad free, instead of your full version is a good question.
The ads within the app itself will be displayed regardless of which email address you use it with. It is not removable, but you can submit it as a suggestion within the Feedback Hub on Windows 10
