ASRock TRX40 Creator, A $500 Home For Your New AMD ThreadRipper
Trimming A Bit Off The Price Of A ThirdRipper Build
We have said it before and will say it again, ASRock may have started as a budget brand which didn’t offer any compelling reasons to recommend them but those days are long gone and while their prices remain low the quality has become top notch. Their TRX40 Creator motherboard is up for review at Guru3D, costing about half the price of many other TRX40 boards but still retaining the features such as PCIe 4.0, 10Gbps LAN and MU-MINO WiFi. In the review we discover part of the reason for the decrease in price, as ASRock opted for actively cooled VRMs with 8 phase power as opposed to the 16 phase seen on most TRX40 boards, however they did not run into any stability issues when testing.
Where all other TRX40 motherboards with the luxurious options sell at 800~1000 USD even, ASRock outs their TRX40 Creator, and the price is 499 USD. A heck of a lot of money, but features wise you still receive AX WOFO and 10 Gbps Ethernet. Worth it?
