CES 2020: ASUS Announces the Chromebook Flip C436
A Lightweight Project Athena Convertible with Chrome OS
ASUS has announced a new Chromebook Flip, the C436, their latest Chrome OS laptop which the company says pairs “a premium productivity experience with uncompromising performance”.
The result of a co-engineering effort between ASUS, Google, and Intel (through Intel’s Project Athena program), this 14-inch, 2.4 lb convertible laptop is powered by Intel 10th Gen Core processors (up to the 4C/8T Core i7-10510U). A convertible design, the Chromebook Flip C436 features a touch display, and has the usual assortment of usage configurations for 360-degree hinge designs including clamshell, tent, and tablet.
The (virtually) frameless NanoEdge display is 14 inches in the space of a typical 13-inch screen, with an impressive 85% screen-to-body ratio. The 1920×1080 panel also offers 100% sRGB coverage. As to battery life, ASUS advertises “all-day” life with up to 12 hours of runtime.
ASUS’s newest Chromebook Flip C436 introduces an eye-catching and elegant convertible form factor, featuring a frameless NanoEdge touch display that’s designed to maximize screen size in the smallest form factor possible. The C436 is housed in a durable yet lightweight magnesium alloy chassis, which measures only 13-inches diagonally at a weight of only 2.4 lbs – perfect for on-the-go productivity.
The ASUS Chromebook Flip C436 is verified by Intel’s Project Athena innovation program and co-engineered for mobile performance. It brings unparalleled power in a convertible and ultra-portable form factor by integrating 10th Gen Intel Core processors with 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and cutting-edge Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) connectivity.
